Question:
Once the 50 series enter the market, do you think the 40 series GPUs could see good discounts, which means he could get something better than the 4070 Ti for the same price it is now going for. Or would it be pointless if a 50 series GPU at the same price point is better in performance?

GPU and graphics cards are actually different. The GPU is the semiconductor die that the GPU designer (Nvidia, AMD, Intel) has made; this is because they are, at the end of the day, making only the chip, and not the hardware it is installed into - which is the graphics card. Nvidia and AMD give these other manufacturers their GPU dies and ask them to put those dies into actual working graphic card bodies, while also modifying them to their liking (not sure how it works with Intel). One could have a lower clock for the sake of reduced power consumption and heating, one could be overclocked and have improved cooling fans in place due to the increased energy and thermal demands, another could just be stock, and so on.
