To be honest, I find it funny how everyone but Croats see something wrong with this, and NON Croats are educating Croats into what is good or wrong.

Fact is, Marko sings about Croatian homeland and Croatian people.

And every Croat is united in this. If others have problems with it...ok? What are we supposed to do? If showing love for their own Country is wrong, then we have serious problems.

And the funniest thing is NON Croats don't understand it LMAO and are trying to portray this as a scandal, when it really isn't. They don't understand the significance of this singer in Croatia.

I find it incredibly funny how he mentioned absolutely no one and somehow many got offended, I don't understand by what exactly xD

First of all: Let's ignore the fact that Catholic Arena is a highly questionable source, which means the figure can't be trusted.

Second: Even if the figure is reliable, that many people attending a concert by a Nazi and Ustaše sympathizer is alarming. And, no, I am absolutely not exaggerating. The singer in question is 100% a Nazi. Anybody who simps for the Ustaše and Black Legion is a 100% full-on without-a-doubt Nazi.

Most former USSR states and eastern European socialist bloc states have ongoing issues with glorification of Fascists and Nazis. The prime examples of this are Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, even Poland. And to just a slightly lesser extent: The former Yugoslav states. In fact, it has been getting worse and worse since the early 1990s. So much so that the countries I listed are notable case studies in Nazi ideology resurgence and the so-called "Aesthetics of Fascism" phenomenon.

The crux of the problem is that the youth in these countries are not educated enough in these matters and are brainwashed into hating anything left of privatized healthcare, and are injected from infancy with historical revisionist and ultra-nationalistic bullshit of the highest order; all instead of confronting their dark pasts so that those mistakes are not repeated.

Let me put it this way:
A person is in a cult but is in denial about it being a cult. It takes someone from the outside to point it out.

Same issue here. All of the nations I mentioned have a serious issue with resurgence of Fascism and even outright Nazism. But your leaders are too chicken-shit to do anything about it, and any common citizen activist who does fight against it is hounded out by ultra-nationalist goons.

Ukrainians within Ukraine will praise Stepan Bandera, much to the horror of every decent person in the rest of the world. Same issue here with this Nazi donkey-fukker.

Yes, this man and his concert are problematic. If you Croats can't see it, then I can only say that the cuck-pit was warranted, and did not go far enough.

I think you're reading too deep into things here. I can almost guarantee like 99% of the people attending it don't know anything about this. The average person doesn't know about things like this, and it's not necessarily through fault of their own. One could argue it's not even the fault of education system itself, where such topics aren't always taught about. (this is phrased weird, I mean that if it's not taught based on x or y reason they didn't "fail"). A lot of people also simply aren't going to read about history, under the thought of it being a worthless wate of time, that won't help them in their lives. I do think that the last sentence is a little out of line. Attending a concert doesn't mean that you want to restart Hitler-occupied Germany, and I think it's a little unfair to say x deserved y based on presumed ignorance.

Looking at what Loj posted including the account name, the whole thing seems to be framed as 500k people attended a (presumably based on the account name) catholic concert.

Fair enough. I might have put a toe out of line. Sorry about that.

However, my point about the ridiculous white-washing of history in these states and a resurgence in far-right ideology stands. And, yes, the education system is indeed geared that way. On purpose! And it is far more insidious than in the US, UK, France, and Japan.

There are people - scores of them - who regularly wear Ustase, Black Legion, and even Slovene Home Guard (for some strange reason) attire at this singer's concerts. This has been well-documented. And everyone, their mother, their grandmother, and even their family dog in the former Yugoslav states knows about those organizations, the former two of which Thompson is known to sing praises of.

This is like if a German or Austrian singer had fans at his concert wearing Waffen-SS uniforms, and an outside observer made the excuse "all those fans can't know any better". Or if an American singer had fans at his concert wearing KKK hoods or American Nazi Party armbands, and an outside observer said the same thing.

In any case... I'm done with this. @JoeJoe can do his own research on this guy, and form his own opinion.

    Okay.

    Goodnight.
