Conversation/PM issues?

Yo guys,

So, I've had a report of a user having issues with conversations (as in, nothing is displayed in the sense of conversation messages, but the navigation of pages is still present.) I am just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if it's an isolated incident between the users of this conversation.

How many pages is the conversation you're having issues with, or is it more than one? How many pages is the largest one?

 

Hm, it's possible, but I've never experienced this issue even when deleting. The deleted ones are removed from the database and how it works is selecting all the posts in reference to the conversation then dividing number of posts into lots of 15 to display over the pages so I can't see a reason for it to display dead pages. But, I need to try deleting a few to go "back" a page, that may make it die like you said. Thanks for this, btw.

Other than this, a commonality I've noticed are the conversations are hundreds of pages, so it could also be an issue with trying to load that many pages of the conversation.

 

200 pages is still pretty big. Another possability is that it has been a coincidence between us installing addons and the cache rebuilding. Sometimes if you're trying to do something and the site's stuff is being rebuilt it can kill pages. It's hard to pinpoint exactly this though.

 

Alright, it's what you thought, @King Dannie! I dunno why because I thought that the pages were meant to calculate based on the conversations, but I'll look into if I can fix this!

 

Alrighty, I think I found how to fix this but it might take a little bit to make this and implement it. I don't know I can manually correct the conversations already affected, especially with how large they are, but it should fix future ones.
