Discussion Delicious in Dungeon

Episode 15 was good. So the dungeon is moving around making it extremely difficult for the group to navigate their way out. They ran into Dryad flowers, their pollen causing a bad case of hay fever. Things were dicey but they managed to get out. Marcille started to teach Laios some magic and Chilchuck was given the birds and the bees talk by Senshi. While Laios was suffering from his first use of magic, the trio went out and stumbled upon a Cockatrice. Marcille got bit and turned to stone. Thanks to the group's efforts, she was revived without major incident.

 

Episode 16 was good. So the dungeon can basically self maintain and repair itself. Interesting. The other two parties headed by Shuro and Kabru. It was an interesting meeting and towards the end, things got heated when Laios told Shuro the truth about Falin. Looks like Falin is turning into a dragon too.

 

Episode 17 was good. The situation ended up kind of de-escalating, but it still doesn't sit well with any of them how Falin was resurrected. Falin attacked too, killing and injuring many of them. She's like half dragon half kind of cockatrice/basilisk looking or something like that. Seems like she fully lost her mind, I am assuming the cry for help was just bait to kill Laios. Kabru also seems much more than he lets on, interesting. In the end, Falin fled. After a bit of a fight between Laios and Shura, the others were revived. The main group will continue on to seek out and challenge the mad sorcerer while the others returned to the surface. Seems like Shura is going to tell the island leader what has happened.

 

I feel like they're hardly comparable. Frieren is far stronger narratively imo. But they're both enjoyable in their own right. This probably has more characters that are likeable/enjoyable.

 

Episode 18 was good. They whole group ended up impersonated by doppelgangers lol. Laios was able to pick them apart. In the end, it was some for of illusion that conjured them. The wolf monster had its head blown of by Marcille.

 

Episode 19 was good. The group got a new party member with Izutsumi. Turns out she's been cursed which is why she seems part animal/monster, like Falin. She hoped they would be able to undo it for her, but she's tagging along. Marcille also had her dream invaded by a nightmare turning it into a nightmare. Laios was triumphant in invading her dream and resolving the situation.

 

Episode 20 was good. Izutsumi is a bit difficult and very much doesn't want to eat monsters. They group made it to the area that the red dragon previously was at when it ate Falin. Their money was taken but items there. They ran into a golem and managed to deal with it. Izutsumi got attacked by a wolf and had her arm broken. Marcille helped get her out of that position and she killed the wolf. In the end, Izutsumi relented and ate the monster meal and loved it.

 

Episode 21 was good. Kabru revealed what happened in his past. His village was destroyed by a dungeon as the monsters ended up coming out and the people of the village turned into monster too. He was the sole survivor after elves came in the clean up. Elves have arrived to also clean up this dungeon as "it's grown too much". On the flip side, Laios finally gave in to the ghost he's been seeing. The party was transported to the golden kingdom somehow. Laios is allegedly the prophesized person that will come, become king and defeat the mad mage. The town is full of immortal people that can't leave that place otherwise they turn into evil ghosts.

 

Episode 22 was good. Thistle was originally brought in as a court jester, then was made to learn magic. Over time, he learnt dark magic and was corrupted. The winged lion is imprisoned deep within the dungeon and seems to be the key to defeating Thistle. When the group was put back in the dungeon, they stumbled upon a Griffon in the area. Senshi is really spooked by this and ended up being taken. Marcille used their food to summon/create a sort of monster. She could control it to rescue Senshi. I lost it how she basically got its vision/controlled it and would "fly" and "wiggle" to simulate it They were able to rescue Senshi in the end. We learnt that Chilchuck has a wife and kids. Senshi also came from a group of miner dwarves and they ended up mining into the dungeon.

 

Episode 23 was good. So the dwarves sought riches in the dungeon and got lost due to it moving around. They became weaker as food dwindled and were picked off by a hippogriff (they thought it was a griffon. Senshi thought for years that he ate dwarven flesh in soup, but it turned out to really be hippogriff. That's why he fled from the griffon as that's what the dwarves thought it was but it got changed into a hypogriff due to mushrooms. Said mushrooms changed the group into each other's races too.

 

Episode 24 was good. The gargoyles returned. Turns out by making a circle, they could turn them into other objects as they kind of gained the properties of hte mushrooms due to the spores on them. Additionally, washing themselves off returned them to their original bodies. They have a sort of mad plan to return Falin to a human body which involves consuming the entire dragon body, but who knows if it'll work.
