NEWS Irregular at magic high school Film Tops 300 Million Yen

The official website ofThe irregular at magic high school The Movie: The Girl Who Summons the Stars(Gekijōban Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Hoshi o Yobu Shōjo) anime film revealed on Tuesday that the film has earned over 300 million yen (about US$2.67 million) as of its second weekend.

In addition, the website revealed that theatergoers who attend the film's third-week screenings will receive a new The Irregular at Magic High School short story while supplies last. The new story, titledMahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei IF, will be a "what-if" story that will portray the female characters becoming idols in the entertainment industry, starting with Miyuki and Mayumi.Tsutomu Satou, the series author, is writing the 130-page story, with cover art by Kana Ishida.


The film earned about 163 million yen (about US$1.47 million) and sold approximately 107,000 tickets to rank #5 in its opening weekend. The film ranked at #6 in its second weekend.
