Discussion Is Shokugeki Dying?

Is it? I mean, think about it.

Shokugeki started out really well, and then it picked up bit by bit. The series got to a point where it was just getting better and better, that's how I felt at least. I feel that the series stopped being good shortly after Shinomiya had Soma as an Apprentice or w.e, honestly.

After that it's dropped downhill, fast, and by fast I mean, way too fast.

Soma, admittedly, was better then, than he is now. He's a character that absolutely has to lose, and by lose I don't mean simply lose and rage. Lose, and learn from. Sometimes you can't win them all, and you're lacking. But this here just feels so off, he's got plot on his side and always manages to win. Legit, always has some sort of trick. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins vs the first seat at this point. LOL.

That all said and done, Azami killed this series. Thoughts?

 

It doesn't have a formula that keeps people coming back it's more for the concept

 

Its obviously not dead since sales for the manga are still doing well and it got a 3rd season to boot. I think what your trying to say is the quality dropping? For some it may, but others think its doing just fine. I'm of the latter and I like the direction things are going.

 

If you can handle non serious series where logic is a stick up the booty without chucking a man tantrum you'll enjoy it

If you like food, cooking battles, foodgasms, and fun/likable characters. Then Shokugeki is for you

 

That's kind of it, this series is really dropping day by day, in terms of Quality as Mahes mentioned, and sales, pretty sure. But, it just feels so... eh?

It was great, I can admit that. Now it just feels meh. Maybe I got used to seeing the same thing done again and again, but who knows. I don't hate it, I'm just salty. Azami was a mistake. Would I recommend? Definitely, it has great art and characters, just no clear storyline right now or anything to keep you coming back aside from save scans, or you're favourite characters.

Eh, do you really? It feels rushed, man. Azami came out of nowhere and just started messing this story up with every passing chapter. We know next to nothing about this character, legit. Like how he got here to begin with, his journey at that. It almost feels like he was given the place for no reason at all.

And yeah pretty much, it's got no real pacing set in stone, it's just all over the place, to say the least.

 

It dropped from a 9/10 to a 6,5 for me after the crap with Azami and Central. What i loved about it was seeing them trying to survive the student life in Totsuki. That evil daddy villain coming in to cause chaos and make it feel like it's a fighting shounen didn't fit at all.

Its picking up again and i still like it and i really hope it goes back to the roots.

 

Maybe it was a different experience for you guys reading week to week, as I stopped for awhile then binged it to catch up and was more than satisfied with what was delivered. I don't mind seeing Souma handing out L's to these arrogant clowns and I have feeling we'll learn more about Azami once his plans start to crumble and the info we have about him has been enough to satisfy me atm.
