Manga ONE PIECE Unboxing and Review

I am starting with One Piece Manga from today. I know, pretty late right? Will try to review as soon as I finish a volume. Hopefully I can catch up before the end of the year.

What I already know:

• Luffy is elastic
• Zoro has green hair
• They are pirates

 

Volume 1 was interesting. So One Piece is actually a big ass treasure hidden by some old pirate? I always thought Luffy's elasticity was congenital, I wasn't aware of the Devil's fruit. Shanks is a sort of father figure for Luffy. The Marine arc was pretty cool, especially the fighting part. Not going to lie when Zoro heard that her friend slipped from the stairs and died I started to laugh, it was so sudden.

Also its going to take some time for the character design to grow on me. Oda has a certain style and I am not sure I like it or not.

 

Yeah man at least think of a better way to kill her like bandits or drowning

i believe they fight Axe Morgan i vol 1 huh

next few volumes are gonna be fun since more chars will get introduced

Volume 2 (chapter 9-17) was cool. Luffy sure has many Gomu-Gomu techniques. But why the hell wasn't he trying to get out of the cage by using his rubber techniques? Zoro seems like an amazing swordsman. Mohji and Cabaji were solo'd so hard. Capt. Buggy was a funny villain, he also seems to know about Shanks. Nami needs a redemption chapter u-u.
Also one more thing why are the villains drawn so funny? Like the guy is saying I'll destroy the village while having a clown nose wtf

 

probably oda didn't want to thtow luffy into serious fight before some development. I mean first few villians are just gonna be buildup for one big arc and that gonna happen every time

 

I see so I should expect a pirate without a clown nose huh

 

you should expect moments that will have you laughing your ass off

 

Yeah I found myself laughing a lot in vol 2 itself

 

Volume 3 was good. Man the battle between Cap Buggy and Luffy was so funny. Man, I lost my shit when he tried to reassemble and was missing his torso . Also, I noticed that Luffy kicks as much as he punches. So that's what the grand line is. So Nami has joined the gang and we have a classical two males one female shonen team. I thought the grand line was a large queue of ships trying to find the One Piece . The final 2-3 chapters felt like a filler episode
