Tbh I found the writing somewhat "meh"
Sure some of it was amazing and I got chills reading some of it, but over all it was.. well "meh" ^^;

The books are actually rather subtle when it comes to the hanky-panky part
Instead it has more gore and violance compared to the series

It's been a while since I read the books, but I only remember one getting rapped and that kinda happened "off panel"
The story is typed from the main character's pov, so anything that happens that contains anything sexual is what they do to their partner/partners.
Even then it's pretty standard - or well at least it is in my opinion, since I've read some rather uhm *cough* lemony flavoured fanfics
