This game can be a little confusing for the amateurs, but you'll understand the dynamics of this game overtime. Also, if this game looks too easy, don't let it fool you, because it isn't. You'll only win this game based on your decision skills and luck. If you have any doubts, you can post your queries in this thread. Keep in mind this game could take anywhere from hours to days, to finish. So be patient.

    The Host

The job of the host is to maintain the order and flow of the game; he/she cannot play the game himself/herself. The host has to take commands from the players, edit the map correspondingly, and post the updated map and repeat this cycle.

    Objective

The objective of this game is to control as big of an empire as you can on the map selected for a particular game (a sample map is linked below). The last empire standing will win. If the game is to be ended before it's finished (for any reason whatsoever), the empire with the biggest area under control at that time is the default winner.

    Rules & Gameplay mechanics

Actually, the gameplay mechanics could vary for various maps, but these are the general guidelines you should keep in mind.

To join the game, first you need to create your first-post in this format:

    Code:
    Name of the empire:
    Color:
    Starting location:
    Example (open)
Name of the empire: Devil's Empire (really, could be anything you like)
Color: Red (pick one from the ones listed in the map given in the game thread)
Starting location: London, UK (pick one from the map given in the game thread)

Now, there is a feature exclusive to this section called Risk Number. It's situated at the bottom-left of the post module. The last digit (or last two/three in special cases) of that number will decide how many additional territories you can cover in that move. The number generated is random, so that's why I said 'luck' will also play a role here.

So basically, you have to give the host clear instructions on where (in which direction) you want to expand your territory. Then number of territories you can expand will depend on the rolled number (Risk Number). The host will then wait for all players to give their commands, and then update the map correspondingly.

This cycle will repeat until there is only one player left standing with his/her empire.

    Sample map

This is a sample map (Click on it to enlarge or open in new window). I'd encourage you to observe it, read the post from beginning once again to understand and relate things. If you still have any doubts, feel free to post in the discussion thread and I'll try my best to clear it!

Note (about Diplomacy): System of allies and NAPs are currently not taken into account for simplicity. These system may be taken into consideration, along with some other intricacies in the coming days when users feel comfortable playing this game.

This is a vault for the previous risk games and the winner of the corresponding games.

Some terms you not be familiar with:
Dubs: Also called 'doubles'. This occurs when the last two digits of your Risk Number are same.
Trips: Also called 'triples'. This occurs when the last three digits of your Risk Number are same.
Quads: Also called 'quadruples'. This occurs when the last four digits of your Risk Number are same.

For example, I got dubs in this post :p
