Episodes: 13 | Source: Web Manga | Genres: Fantasy, Mystery, Seinen Synopsis The Shadows, characterized by their pitch-black appearance and tendency to emit soot when agitated, are a family of nobles who reside in a colossal manor deep within the mountains far from other humans. When a Shadow child is nearly of-age, they are assigned a Living Doll who acts not only as their attendant but also as their second half—the faces they could have had if not for their complexion. Emilico is a cheerful, newly created Doll who serves a rather soft-spoken master named Kate. Despite their difference in personalities, Emilico does what she can to carry out the needs of her master. As she learns more about her role and duty, Emilico begins to meet her fellow Dolls and their respective masters and comes to know more about the purpose of her existence. "Do not fret over trivial matters," says one of the rules by which all Dolls must abide. But how could the ever-curious Emilico do so in the face of the deep secrets that the Shadows House holds? Episode 1 was pretty interesting. So the Dolls re basically modelled after the Shadows, in looks, probably. But they have to learn everything after being created.
Episode 2 was interesting. Emilico ventured outside and got along with the other Dolls. But then they're completely different when with their Shadows. For some reason Emilico and Kate are considered failures?
Episode 3 was interesting. So if the soot gathers it can get a life of its own basically and move around. Interesting. It also caused Rosemary to get sick which could be fatal. But it all turned out ok.
Episode 4 was alright. So Barbie picks on the other new Dolls, pretty shit. At least Emilico made some new friends.
Episode 5 was interesting. The debut is in full swing and things are going like shit for Kate and Emilico.
Episode 6 was good. Emilico and Rum are getting along. They managed to figure out how to move out of the room thanks to Emilico. Kate is a sharp one.
Episode 7 was good. Emilico really is good at making friends with everyone, even someone like Patrick. Looks like they have now figured out the map
Episode 9 was solid. There was some doubt around how Ricky got the sheers, but it was cleared up. Emilico did a great job rescuing Kate.
Episode 10 was interesting. Emilico and Kate barely made it and passed. Rum and Shirley were kinda discarded for failing, but Rum will be repurposed to one of the other dolls. With the soot coffee, the living dolls can be swayed.
Didn't expect the dark turn of episode 11. So the "living dolls" are actually just brainwashed human kids. Emilico has been abducted now too.
12 was good. Emilico did well holding out for Kate. So it was Edward behind it. Kate and the others also did well avoiding being noticed. Until the end for Kate.
In the end they were able to escape Edward due to Louise telling about him to Barbie and her shadow. He was harshly reprimanded. So the little shadow that helped them was actually Rum/Rummy.
