Sugoidesu updates - plans for the future

Hi members of SugoiDesu!,

I'm making this thread to keep you all informed of SugoiDesu's direction for the future.

SD's general direction at the moment:

• Homepage
• Lists
• Streaming
• Forums

In the hopefully near future, these four things will come together to make SugoiDesu! We hope to integrate it all together, more than it all simply being integrated into the forums software, but more-so meshed together itself as well. I will try to explain the plan below, in a nutshell.

Homepage:
The homepage will be what is currently www.sugoidesu.net/forums. This will be literally what it implies and be sort of a base where you can go to the forums, streaming, or lists via navigation at the top. Furthermore, we are planning on displaying the last 4 seasons of anime in some arrangement including the current airing seasons, as well as one "random" lot. By clicking the anime, you will be redirected to the list entry of it which will contain the synopsis, options about adding it to your list, other anime of that season, link to the forums to discuss it, creating a stream room for it -- this will probably only apply to current airing anime, not too sure -- and some sort of comments part for it.

Lists:
The lists will be a bit more expanded than originally planned, but still basically the same. It will have your completed, backlog and recommendations of anime, manga, light novels and visual novels. Furthermore, it's going to be a bit more expanded to have the individual items pages enabling it to be meshed with the homepage and for certain entries, the streaming.

Streaming:
The streaming is a pseudo-synchronised service for people to watch videos "together". It includes a real-time chatbox as well. Currently, there will be a video queue of up to five videos, which the host of the room will set and it will only play, to all participants, when the host plays the video. The rooms will have the ability to be fully private; can only join via room name and code, friends-view; your friends can view your rooms from a friends room view feature, this includes information about the room itself and finally open; which anyone can view and join -- basically the friends view but open.

Forums:
Basically the same as what it is, but probably will evolve to be different and hopefully more organise over time.


Thank you all for sticking with SD; even through its moments of quiet. I hope you will continue to stick around as we continue developing these features and implement them. Hopefully the site will only grow in the future.

It's not limited like yours. The server has where you host the files and databases. This is all you need to along with know-how to make your own web stuff.
