Synopsis

Enticed by its rumored wealth, Cid Kagenou happily tags along with his sister, Claire, on a trip to the infamous Lawless City. The region is ruled by three monarchs: Yukime, the Spirit Fox; Juggernaut, the Tyrant; and Elisabeth, a dormant progenitor vampire known as the Blood Queen. Hunting Elisabeth down serves as the perfect opportunity for Claire to prove her true mettle. On the other hand, Cid has different objectives—sneaking away from Claire's sight, collecting as much loot as possible, and making Shadow's glorious entrance at the perfect moment.

As Elisabeth's awakening draws near, her subordinate Crimson enacts a treacherous plot, sending the town into a frenzy. Searching for her now-missing brother, Claire finds an unexpected ally in Mary, a vampire hunter, and the pair hurry to the Crimson Tower—the home of the Blood Queen. Meanwhile, Beta and a small team of Shadow Garden recruits also arrive at the Lawless City. As the key players converge on the Crimson Tower, the stage is set for a grand confrontation under the crimson moon.

Episode 1 was pretty good. Cid was dragged off to the lawless town by his sister lol. Things are getting interesting with vampires in the mix, and ghouls. Plus the vampire hunter, and the three powers being the towers. Hopefully the random prostitute character isn't actually going to be relevant... Such a shitty backstory and most likely will be. The perverted guys from school are in a real bind.

 

Episode 2 was good. I suspected that Mary was a vampire, and it is the case. She was close with the blood queen Elisabeth. Interesting backstory, Elisabeth wanted to live in peace with humans. Other vampires had created issues, but for a time there was peace. But she was fed blood when the blood moon first came about and went on a frenzy. She was"killed" but her body didn't turn to ash. Looks like Crimson attempted to revive her but was seemingly killed by Shadow.

Shadow also helped out his sister and Mary. I still don't understand how even his sister doesn't realise that Cid is Shadow.

 

Epsiode 3 was good. Claire was injured badly and somehow the Witch of Calamity Aurora manifested. Shadow showed up and healed the vampire "illness" of Elisabeth. Wonder what the fox lady wants?

 

Episode 4 was good. So there has been a central banking system introduced, well 2. One is a competing company and one is by the Shadow Garden girls. The competitor has so serious flaws making it possible to counterfeit. Delta has arrived in the capital too.

 

Episode 5 was good. The counterfeit notes have begun to circulate. Interesting it was the original plan for that company too, but it going off early creates issues. How cold for Cid to not tell Shadow Garden that he's John Smith.

 

Episode 6 was good. Delta was sent to hunt John Smith and she smelt the true identity. He gave her another mission in the lawless city. Alpha also confronted him and figured out who he was, she kind of felt a bit betrayed. The money scheme went without a hitch. Yukime is a half typical lazy backstory of suffering for a woman. She was set to be married to someone (Gettan), and war broke out. Gettan killed her mother and other villagers. Then she was made a war prostitute and ended up in the lawless city and climbed to the top. I swear this is the only backstory ever given that is meant to be "sad for a woman. So stale and overused.

 

Episode 7 was good. Just as Alpha was thinking Shadow abandoned them, the message was decoded. They survived the collapse and made it out. Shadow kicked and beat the shit out of Gettan. He agreed to protect Yikime who agreed to work with them long term. Shadow is going out alone now.

 

Episode 8 was meh. Generic hotspring/pool episode.

 

Episode 9 was ok. Shadow visited a town where Maria, the prostitute has relocated and started a new life as an inn keeper. Some people in the area were basically extorting money from others. The only thing she can think of to pay the bills is to sell her body again... Typical. Shadow locates them and gives her some money back to help out.

Rose has "defected" from Shadow Garden so save her mother and is apparently getting married. Shadow is going to confront her.

 

Episode 10 was good. Cid wowed them with his piano performance and stole some good, including the ring of succession. Princess Rose is forced to marry Asshat otherwise her mother will die. Cid has a plan. Lol at the maid mogging Epsilon fake breasts.

 

Episode 11 was pretty good. I didn't expect Rose's mother to love Duke Asshat, be the one that poisoned the king and even wanted Rose's death. Bit out of left field. Rose killed Duke Asshat and Mordred killed Rose's mother. Looks like Shadow is about to get a final battle.

 

Episode 12 was good. As expected, Shadow took out the being. Got some pretty interesting backstory about the world from Mordred. Basically, there are lots of worlds out there and at times they intersect. Was the end Shadow going back to his original world? Absolutely nuts.
