The Tavern: The Birth of an Adventure

"No," he replies with a shake of his head. "I was considering exploring more of this world. Dessa?"

 

I was just going to walk around the town to see the different shops. *Dessa asks the bartender for some water while he is at their booth.*

 

"Should we take a trip around town then?" He asks, curious. "I too would like to see more of this town and explore more of its wonders."

 

"Okay sounds good to me, let me just finish my food first." She says turning to the barkeep. "Unless either of you have any more you'd like to order" she says turning to them and then the keep "we will be taking our tabs now" she says to him so they can pay.

 

"No, I am quite full." He replies with a tilt of his head, purple visor glowing and pulsing softly. "I am ready to pay."

He reaches beneath his cloak and pulls out a large, heavy, gold bar and sets it on the table. "Will this be sufficient to pay?"

 

The barkeep nods and says that it is enough his eyes wide. Esca looks at it her eyes wider "Uhm you sure? Shockwave that is quite the heavy purse I think it might be overkill" she says to him.

 

"You don't think it is enough?" He pulls out a second and third bar, stacking them in a pyramid. "Is this enough?"

 

"Er now you are just showing off..." She says with her eyes narrowing. The payment is made.
"Well regardless thank you" she says to the barkeep as she finishes her food and cancels her projected image spell while it fades away she has it look like it is being banished to another dimension. Esca jumps down for the booth once more.

"Let's go!" She says leading the way. "Ah Dessa you mentioned shops anything you have in mind?" She asks her

 

"Showing off?" He asks with a slow pulse of purple light across his visor. "I was not sure of the value of such metal. I do not have need of it on my planet."

He teleports behind the duo, his long strides easily keeping pace with theirs. "What are shops?"

 

Esca thinks for a moment. "Shockwave, you handed 20 dollars before in addition you had those gold bars ready to go for payment. So its clear to me you have at least some familiarity with the exchange of goods and services. Shops are just that. The shop will have a certain supply of items or in some cases services that you may get in exchange for money. There are a lot of shops around more so if one goes to one of the big cities like Omazi" Esca says as they exit the tavern and they enter the town proper.

 

"Ooh, so a cultural exchange." He taps his metal chin with a gloved finger. "Let us go to all of them then, I wish to acquire as much knowledge as possible."
