    But OP is his IP, how do they force something which is approved by Oda himself wtf, One Piece is owned by Oda not by WSJ, he just publishes it there, I doubt they have any say in what Oda does lol

    Why wouldn't they? As soon as he has completed OP I doubt he'll be doing another manga. He's overworked himself too much. It's probably why he is trying to finish it ASAP. You can say that Oda owns it all you want, but they fact that Shueisha has some sort of contract around it probably allows them to use it to some degree how they want. Hard to know specifics.

    As far as I know, Shueisha can't do shit with someone elses IP, Boruto happened because Kishi himself approved it for someone else, Two Piece won't happen unless Oda himself agrees. I feel like that's logical.

    Unless Oda pushed himself to push his IP move I don't think he was pushed by a 3rd source at all considering he himself said he won't launch live action unless he himself is satisfied, everything tells me that he has power with his IP.

    The difference between DS and OP is also huge.
    Op has like 516 million copies in circulation for 104 volumes which probably one of the best but DS has 150 million copies in circulation for like 23/24 volumes adm that data is from like 2020 and it has only grown immensely after it ended.

    It would depend upon the contract, but they can probably do more than you think they can.

    That's good pr speak means shit all. MH team said same thing about their live action movie and wash trash. I feel like every time a LA thing happens it gets talked up big with good PR. xD

    We do x with "your" IP and you get x royalties
    We do x with "your" IP, while you worth with us and get paid xx royalties.
