As far as I know, Shueisha can't do shit with someone elses IP, Boruto happened because Kishi himself approved it for someone else, Two Piece won't happen unless Oda himself agrees. I feel like that's logical.

Unless Oda pushed himself to push his IP move I don't think he was pushed by a 3rd source at all considering he himself said he won't launch live action unless he himself is satisfied, everything tells me that he has power with his IP.

The difference between DS and OP is also huge.
Op has like 516 million copies in circulation for 104 volumes which probably one of the best but DS has 150 million copies in circulation for like 23/24 volumes adm that data is from like 2020 and it has only grown immensely after it ended.

 

So is OP and it is no longer Shueisha's biggest cash cow so it's no longer gonna affect Shueisha say like it would have 5 years ago
