I remember when I first watched this anime, I never expected such a development; I thought that the young conductor was just going to be the first of many civilian casualties aboard the Flying Pussyfoot. I had noticed that he had a small part in the opening, but even still, it never occurred to me that he would play such a big role in the story -- his entire existence skews the direction of the story and alters the outcome of certain events, completely independent of the author's own will.

Will elaborate more on that come episode 11 :zaru

That being said, his killing methods are so bloody and grotesque ... I love it @_@

Episode 10

Who would have thought that this moment would become the source of Dallas' massive inferiority complex towards Firo for years come ... though that's a story for another time.

One of my favorite events that took place in 1931 is the fight on top of the Flying Pussyfoot. It's interesting that Chane has the ability to communicate telepathically with her father, despite the fact that she's an ordinary human. Chane, the science experiment ... I wonder if it's possible for her to communicate telepathically with her mother as well, or perhaps there's some kind of mental block that prevents her from doing so.

So claire/ vino the conductor is the rail chaser D too many psychos in dis animu gr8 episode

Oh so it was telepathy I thought it was just her recalling past events

Ladd v Chane was awesome. Ima have to look up these crime family names getting confusing. The way Isaac and Miria stole the elixir and fall in these situations is always funny

To elaborate on what I said earlier:

Chane was originally supposed to die that night aboard the Flying Pussyfoot. If it weren't for Claire's intervention in their fight, Chane likely would have ended up losing to Ladd as his taunts started getting the better of her. Even if, per chance, she didn't lose to Ladd, she likely would have lost her life to the Lemures who were plotting against her. Then, the author came up with the character we know as Claire, whose existence drastically changed the course of these (and several other) events via his slaughter of the black suits and intervention in the fight on top of the train. If you think about it this way, one could say that Claire saved her life that night.

He would have taken any reason/excuse to not kill her

Yeah, it's telepathy, though I don't know if it's one sided or not.

 

Epi 11
This episode was great lots of tension Ladd and Claire conflicting ideologies were interesting

 

Loved the way Claire beat Ladd by tricking him with that slipknot tied around Lua's neck

I always suspect that he didn't kill Ladd just to be a ****-boy so he technically wouldn't be going back on his word to "kill whoever survives;" this way, he'd have another excuse not to kill Chane.

 

Intresting point I also found it weird that he decided to save Issac and Miria with holding the rope so they didnt fall of the train
