Ashgate #1 - Game Thread

With a strong curiosity i head to the screens with the security cameras

 

You took a look over the feeds. Some of them were places you recognised - they were definitely from this cube. However, there were some black screens as well. You wondered for a moment if they were broken - it was possible - but some of them flickered, so it was more likely that it was just too dark to see whatever was going on. Restoring the rest of the power inside of this cube would be highly advantageous - you would be able to see everything from this room!

I go over to the levers and see if they're labeled for their functions.

 

You go and take a look at the levers. They're not labelled, but some of them are switched to an "On" position, while the rest are "Off".

Looking towards the cameras, I mumble to myself "Worth a shot..." I grab the closest OFF level to me and switch it to ON.

 

As you push down the level, some of the screens on the monitor burst into light.

Will you turn on all the power?

Thinking better of it, I closely monitor the screens while slowly turning the levers to ON, planning to stop the moment you saw movement.

 

As you slowly turn on the next lever, you see an old acquaintance creep into view of one of the cameras. It's The Creeping Darkness. It's still down in the garden, minding it's own business. You wonder if its not asking you to leave the lights dimmed.

What will you do next?

Slamming that lever down, I move onto the next, hoping for better results this time.

 

You release the lever, and it resets back to its original position. It wasn't like you were able to get down into the gardens anyway. You move onto the next levers, which lit up the rest of the rooms inside this cube. There didn't seems to be anything wrong on the monitors from where you were standing.

What will you do now?

I check around the room for anything like a vault or safety box that may require keys.

I look closely at the monitors, hoping to see any of the card readers from earlier powered up.

 

You take a gander at what's on the monitors again. You can see some of the places mentioned in Paul's Diary - the gym was now fully lit, and there was a room that looked like it was a meet up point for evacuating this cube. There are a bunch of places you don't recognise however. It suddenly hits you that the card readers may have powered on, and found the one in the Cafeteria feed. It was still powered off.
