I place the books on in a random order, and push them against the back.

 

Put the books in the order that they were written in, in that case.

If we were to order them numerically, it would be 580371.

(I guess publish date =/= written date)

 

As you push the last book into place, you hear a click, and slight creaking sound, Turning around to face the source, you see that one of the wall panels has opened. It revealed a safe with a keypad lock.

i look at the lockpad and try to tap my keycard against it hopeing it would work
