Ashgate #1 - Game Thread

Uhhh well. I guess I'll just leave this Otherworld, if that's an option. I want to go back to being asleep in the company of Umbra. And not being dead.

 

You're not really sure on how to leave. You sigh, wishing that the memory would return to you. You hope that if you just go and explore the place more, you'll be returned to reality eventually.

Where will you visit first? There are corridors that look like they branch out towards the cafeteria - or towards the library corridor.

Alright well. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get a midnight snack at the cafeteria, I suppose.

 

You walk along the corridor and reach the Cafeteria. From behind the glass, you can see numerous humans running out of the room and towards the library corridor. This must have been when they tried to evacuate.

By process of elimination, let's follow these humans along to the Library Corridor.

 

You take the next turn down the corridor that runs alongside the Library Corridor. A good majority of the people made it upstairs to the third floor - but the stragglers were stopped by none other then yourself. In a desperate attempt to get away from you, they all ran in different directions. The Shadows disappeared. You made your way to the space in between the corridor and the library.

At the very end - you could see yourself and Umbra standing outside of the security office. To your right - the doors the stairs opened, and The Tantarian came waltzing in. He took a little peek around the corner upon hearing Umbra's voice. "Oooh~ A human! I have got to snack on that one...." As he started to walk down the corridor, you and Umbra vanished into the security room. "No fair..." The Tantarian complained, "Using The Caretaker's magic to hide?"

The Shadows disappeared once more. Your head felt fuzzy, and your vision was fading - perhaps.....?

"I feel sorry for inadvertently breaking such a pretty mirror, though."

That was sudden. You took a moment to collect yourself, and then did the same as the past cycle. You lay with Umbra as she fell asleep - and then went to sit on the couch. You felt tired.

Will you sleep, or stay awake?

I am going to stay awake to make sure we stay safe.

 

After an hour passed, you heard someone walking up the stairs outside. You got up from the couch and unlocked the door.

"Tantarian, you better stay out of my Cabin if you know what is good for you."

The Tantarian froze. "Ohya, ohya! As I live and breathe. It's The Caretaker. I thought you were another one of those humans."

"Uh-huh." you said, unimpressed. "Go find somewhere else to hunt. This was my cube before the humans moved in here." The Creeping Darkness gurgled - it sounded like it was laughing. The Tantarian scowled. "He's invited. You're not. Scram."

Begrudgingly, The Tantarian took off. You made sure he was well on his way to another cube before you relaxed. You ask The Creeping Darkness to keep an eye out, regardless. You thanked it, and headed back inside and locked the door. As soon as your head hit the pillow, you were asleep.
