"Killing is only natural for an Unknown. You should know better then anyone else that I never really got the chance to be human."

 

"Then you shouldn't know if it is Umbra. I think you're dwelling on the unchangeable here."

 

"Maybe!" she laughs a little. "Still, ever after all this time, you're a little terrifying, even to me. You showed me that it was natural for a human to hunt and kill what is unknown to them, but you turned on your own kind. Honestly, I wonder why you even turned your back on your humanity in the first place."

 

"There are some things even I don't know."

 

"...Maybe you'll remember soon."

Umbra falls silent, and you get the feeling that she wants to be left alone. You get up from your seat on the floor, and walk out of the armory. Your PD vibrates gently in your pocket.

What will you do?

 

I groan and pull it out already pissed off

 

For a brief moment, you see that something has penetrated the defensive system for this particular cube. Before you are able to react, you are knocked onto to the floor. You can hear sounds of struggling from where Umbra was sat.

"Umbra?" I call out

 

You hear a faint gurgling as Umbra tries to respond.

I try to make my way to her

 

As you try to get up, you feel something forcing you down back onto the floor. Your eyesight is a little hazy, but nothing is actually on top of you as far as you can tell.

I try to pull myself along the floor

 

You manage to turn yourself over onto your front, and make an effort to get over to Umbra. In the darkness you can see a figure on top of her. You reach out your hand. The figure turns, and hits you with a blast of magic.

You pass out.
