I decide to head to the door hoping there's another way to open it without a key card

 

You inspect the locked door again - and it's locking mechanism. Upon closer inspection, it doesn't look like any of the other key card readers that you came across yesterday. You figured that this was specifically built to interact with the PD's - and why you needed to get your hands on it.

I check some of the other shelves in the room.

 

There was another set of shelves you had given a look over yet. They were mostly bare however, and looked like - you, presumably - hadn't finishing putting them together. Among the clutter, there was a small screwdriver. You pick it up.

Thinking of my new horns, I squeeze them a little, trying to determine how hard they are.

 

You raise a hand to your head. You give your new horns a cautionary poke - and then stroke them. You head had been pounding this entire time, but you didn't really think about it until now. It also seemed like your horns had grown a few inches since you last saw yourself in the mirror. At least they were growing out backwards over your skull. They would be out of the way.

I tap with the screwdriver along the sides of the desk, looking for any hollow spaces that seem out of place.

 

You decide to check the desk once more. You tap gently, careful not to dent of scratch the polished surface. It sounded like you didn't miss anything.

The only thing you haven't really examined yet was.... the smash photos. Looking at them made you sick, but...

I check among the debris for any more clues.

 

As you search through the debris, you find various pieces of paper. You feel played.
