Can you make it mandatory for users to sign up for the chat? Right now it's too easy for anyone to use any username and pretend to be another person.

I know this issue might not be important to some, and I might be overstepping my boundaries here, but I feel that the forum sections, as they are, are just too clustered and confusing. Would it be possible to change or rearrange them a bit so that it can be easier to pick where you want to go, as well as make it more appealing to everyone.

For example, the GFX subsection should NOT be a subsection, but instead it's own category. Sometimes I still get confused when I try to search for it because it's a sublink. We should rename it as Design Hall too. 'GFX' is too plain.

Under Hot Springs, we can have different sections without having to click on Anteiku to see them, and we can also get rid of Anteiku as most people don't even know what that means.
Example:
*General Discussion (Serious topics or current events)
*Music Corner (Videos and music you are listening to)
*Library (Books you have read)
*TV / Movie Theatre (Current TV series and movies you have watched)
*Chat (Chatterbox and spam threads. Nonsense posts)
*Gaming Central (Video games you have played)
*Sports Stadium (Sport highlights)
*Fanclubs (Fanbases you like to be apart of)

Members Corner doesn't need to be there because the Chat section under Hot Springs will serve as the members corner.
A section called Writers Blog can have sections under it like Poetry and Fanfictions.

The Announcements need to be separate from the Suggestions and Questions. I don't want to click on announcements/news just to make a suggestion.

We need to make a separate section for Tsukihiro's contests.

I would change the name to something more simple like Anime Central. I would also make a few animes under it instead of clicking on Anime/Manga discussion just to get to where I want to go. I don't feel it's necessary to click and then scroll down just to find One Piece or Bleach. It should already be it's own section without me having to click anything on the main page.

I also feel that Anime and Manga should be seperate sections in the Anime Central
The RP section is fine as it is.

Of course, if we're going to fit all of these sections, you have to make the font a little smaller.

No one has to agree with this idea, but I thought it best that the sections looked a little more organized and simple.

 

I've noticed when you open certain anime section like One Piece,above name( or under it) you have a blank space.Well not a blank space but the name of section looks lazy.

Why not replace the letters with pictures or something since there is place to do so.

I was wondering why not make a banner like you have on the forum itself the 2 twins? So one section one banner(smaller one)?

Idk how would that look but the forum design looks "lazy" when it come to anime/manga sections.

Considering the amount of queries and posts in the thread regarding forum design and layout, I might do a few rough mockups of a new design(s) for the forum if I have time.

I'd rather put a banner there or something to look it more filling since look the space on the right where the name of section is...it's empty.
The banner would fit great there,but that's just my opinion.

 

I agree. If it's just aesthetics that's the problem, that won't be hard to address. But there's a bit more to it than that, judging by other feedback, so I'll try and keep an open-mind to get the best solution for you guys.

 

I touched on this in the shoutbox the other day and I figured I would mention it here.

I really, really do not like showcases. The idea is great, but this needs to be utilized better. The name isn't very intuitive (It's not obvious that they are basically reviews) and I think there should be incentives introduced to get people to read and engage in conversation with the reviewers as well. Perhaps something akin to the Steam discovery queue where people can see the newest reviews posted in the sidebar and are encouraged to rate them? Perhaps a Keno incentive for voting + / - (With a daily cap on it of course) on reviews?

My current thoughts on the system: I would really like to write and post reviews, but they do not get a lot of attention on this forum, at the moment it is not worth posting one x_x
