Normal Game Thread Big Trouble in Little Salem

I don't really need to Quick. I won, you lost. Easy as that. You couldn't get yourself cleared last dayphase while you kept me cleared as townie and even let me into a ******* towncore.

I mean cf played nice and well, but in the end I sold Ratchet the lynch and made quick believe I am town. I also pushed 2 mislynches.

 

While we wait for Rohan, I guess we can discuss the people we think potentially deserve MVP here.

@Prada's play was fairly solid. I think he overdefended Reaper and got a bit too specific when trying to deflect onto Nick. I also think that his "I'm clearly being framed" bit in response to suspicion on Day 3 was a fairly weak argument. At that point, I was pretty convinced he was an SK or some other lone Scum. However, whether by luck or skill, he narrowly avoided being lynched twice, managed to convince several players that he was Town, and managed to covertly signal to the Mafia that he was the Traitor. His play is far from perfect, but he was certainly instrumental in the Scum win here.

@Crimson Falcon displayed some opportunistic wishywashiness at the beginning, and probably my chiefest regret with my own play was so completely writing that off when Falcon acknowledged how it must look. Up until his actual claim, I was fairly sure Falcon was Town. The claim itself, I think, was hastily done, but he correctly identified that Quick would be the easiest person to push a mislynch on, and that Quick having killed me was the easiest narrative to sell.

@wowee played pretty passively, which allowed her to mostly avoid having to actually contribute, but not so much so that it was readily apparent that she was lurking. Her posts were well constructed, and I only figured her out in the aftermath of Falcon's claim (and even then, it was more an educated guess than anything to do with her actual behavior, so "figured her out" is probably something of a misnomer).

@S H I N T O obviously lurked all game, and what few posts he had made little sense. He also very specifically avoided the inno/guilty meta, despite on I believe two occasions acknowledging posts of mine where I asked him for his response. He's probably the only winner here that I don't think could potentially deserve MVP.

I'd be curious to hear from the mafioso who they think among them is most deserving, as I imagine there was a lot of behind-the-scenes planning that we can't correctly attribute. Things like who directed the kills, who realized Prada was signaling that he was a Traitor, and stuff like that.

With that out of the way, I'd like to address the members of the Town. Obviously, these are just my opinions, so you can take them or leave them, but I hope we can foster legitimate discussion and move towards improving as a community.

@Ratchet and I both took rather apathetic approaches; I spent too much time playing the metagame, and he, I think, was more wrapped up in who he'd rather lose to if he chose wrong than who was more likely correct.

@Ningen needs to work both on his ability to communicate and on his ego, as his even being a candidate for lynch was primarily a result of him blustering to cover a mistake.

@Nick disappeared on us, and with outside confirmation that this wasn't the result of some external force beyond his control like several of us feared, it now seems that he just couldn't be assed to come back into thread and follow up with Prada.

@ッCrimsonReaper is still very new, and has a lot to learn.

@Quick I think I've made my opinions clear on already.

@Crispickle and @Globear I felt were much too hands off all game.

For @poutanko and @Bimbonium, I don't necessarily have any particular critique for, but neither did either leave a particular impression on me.

@Lord Maple I think played the best on the Town side. In the midst of the Quick lynch, he was asking what I felt were important questions. Ultimately, I felt he was a bit too indecisive, but I still feel like he is worth praising; if we'd won, he'd probably be my choice for MVP.

I kinda set myself up for that one, was too hasty with Reaper when I saw how heated he got over nothing
Though in the end he did get mislynched for it so I'm okay with it.

Though had he been lynched d1 and viole survived prob would've changed things drastically for myself.

Kills were mutually discussed between wowza and myself (since shin was MIA for the most of it ;-; )
I noticed Prada since his posts felt too convenient to be town but at the same was worried it might be some bait from someone that knows the theme too much. In the end worked out anyways.

Wowee was a great partner though she had just enough confrontation with me to not look like buddying but at the same we were unified in lynches and everything to get things done. Her posts were solid at sounding town and not drawing any unwanted attention.
For me she's a 10/10 in terms of staying undercover.

I mean, before that whole thing with me claiming vig, I wasn't doing much of anything. I only started stepping up my game because I knew that whole deal with me claiming would eventually become a big deal. I really didn't have a clear cut answer regarding to who I think scum were until near the end, by which it was too late and I legit couldn't get the words together that I thought would be enough to overturn Ratchet's or Crispickle's opinions. Like, I had a good feeling that CF was mafia by then, but all I could say about that was that I didn't like his tone, and that's pretty lul. Choosing Quick over CF would pretty much require me to assume that whatever that was on Quick was simply a fault in his play rather than him being scummy, and honestly, I don't know what to say to convince that it was the former rather than the latter without using WIFOM-ish stuff. There were probably a lot of stuff I missed that I could have used.

Basically, I could have done a lot better. I'm not sure if I can say I did better than the rest of town.

Will vote for either Falcon or Wowee. Her killing me was what saved Prada from being lynched D2 and she's the least sus looking from scum team. These 2 worked really well together as team.

 

You know me, I'm single and ready to mingle, easy to work with me :blushing

 

Though in all fairness, between Wowee, myself and Prada I find everyone had a part in the victory and it's hard to say one's actions were more important than the other's. If it was possible as a collective think the award is deserved. Choosing 1 is eh when everyone played their part more than sufficiently.
