Yeah man wtf if Aizen's shikai is so broken I wonder what his Bankai does

Goryutenmetsu looked much better in the manga and even in the Jump Force and Bleach: Brave Souls video games. And they were the canonically accurate reiatsu colour of the caster(s) i.e. purple for Aizen and red for Urahara.

Yes. 99 is the highest number of Kido.

We got Bakudo 99: Kin and Bankin in literally the first major arc (when Uarahara restores Ichigo's shinigami powers and trains him for infiltrating Soul Society).

Aizen is Bleach's single biggest troll, after all. Then there be Urahara.

Sometimes, a good god-stomp is enjoyable, especially if the character on the receiving end is sorely in need of some humbling.

Aizen definitely has a bankai. Given his ludicrous power, his sheer mastery over that power, and the fact that he has achieved the heights of power as a shinigami, he has to have one. I have no doubt that he manifested his zanpakuto spirit and absolutely dominated its ass in order to achieve bankai. His bankai must just have some disadvantage for him to not use it in battle. After all, it is a kido type, not a power type like Ichigo's and Zaraki's, or elemental type like Genryusai's and Toshiro's.

 

Shikai is a manifestation of the user's power and Bankai, according to Kubo in a Q&A, is a manifestation of their ego.

As much as they would both hate to admit it, both Shinji and Aizen are extremely similar in character at their very cores. Even their shikais are similar, in that they are both kido types which manipulate a target's senses. Shinji's bankai is extremely situational, and he thus relies on zankensoki and shikai alone to usually fight i.e. just like Aizen. We can deduce that Aizen's bankai may have similar disadvantages. It might be broken and overpowered as all heck, for all we know, but might be very very situational. He might have to use it only under particular conditions.

Bankai being a manifestation of the user's ego certainly explains Sui-Feng's bankai. Her shikai is a two-hit-kill precision weapon which suits her fighting style and role as a stealthy assassin. Her bankai reflects who she truly is deep down: a petty child with an explosive temper.

 

I love the contrast between her shikai and bankai.

Suzumebachi: Kill this person in particular, with extreme precision.

Jakuho Raikoben: Kill this person in particular, with extremely explosive force, and also everyone within a spirit mile of them.

Kubo always places heavy emphasis on how dialogue is worded.

Noticed on a re-watch: Yhwach referred to Orihime as just "that woman" and "woman" till episode 45. After that, including in episode 48, he refers to her by full name. She earned his respect.

He also referred to Renji by first name only in episode 48, instead of using his full name. He respected him as well for coming there to face him despite the gap in power and his condition.
