Discussion Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War

Episode 10 was phenomenal. Man, Unohana and Kenpachi have a great dynamic, basically 2 sides of the same coin. She fought Kenpachi a long time ago, and he was simply too strong, that he ended up supressing his own power so that he could try and relive the battle with her over and over forever. To correct her sin, Unohana learnt Kaido to heal to be able to fight forever, until this moment. Because she realized that slowly over time, each time Kenpachi was in a near death battle, he would unconsciously un-restrain a portion of his power, so the battle to the death with her constantly healing them both is to unlock his full power. When Kenpachi won, he wanted none of that, but Unohana felt liberated in death, having accomplished what she wanted. Now Kenpachi has learnt his Zanpakuto's name! :D

LMAO and Nimaiya and Kon becoming bros over the women (Zanpakuto). Ichigo and Renji were tossed into a pit of Asauchi to get one and reforge their Zanpakuto. Renji passed, and Ichigo failed. He was cast out to home to learn about his roots.

 

I wonder how much of that was her projecting, given Ryuken's comment about "her loneliness" I assume she was also forced into an arranged marriage so became bitter, but maybe not . But yeah, in the end things worked out the best for them.

Yeah, I am aware of the captains. Katori is why I said it's like there's a Rangiku in each generation. Chika Shihoin looks pretty dapper.

 

Episode 11 was good. Ichigo fled from Isshin to his boss' place, and she kind of sorted him out, before Isshin showed up in soul reaper form and Ichigo went with him. It was cool to see him as the former squad 10 captain. Toshiro's uppies gets me every time. The hollow killing shinigami was one of Aizen's works, created from Shinigami. It has the ability to pass on hollowfication basically. Isshin went to investigate it, fought it a bit but Aizen backstabbed him weakening him. Despite warnings, Masaki went to help and killed it herself, but not before she was infected. Masaki has a difficult time with the Ishida's after being taken in as the sole survivor of the Kurosaki Quincy line, particularly due to Izumi, Ruken's mother.

 

Episode 12 was good, really finally filled everything in regarding Ichigo, and his mother and father, and tied it together nicely. Masaki and Ryuken were betrothed to carry on the "pure" Quincy bloodline. Due to White's special ability to cause hollowfication which passed on to Masaki, she started to experience soul suicide due to the conflicting hollowfiction. Isshin happened to come by to visit Masaki, right when Ryuken was carrying her to find a way to save her. Urahara interrupted their argument and gave the ultimatum: Isshin could be bound to Masaki forever and lose his powers permanently becoming a human saving her, or not. The expectation was not for him to agree, which he did, mirroring Masaki's view on regretting it if he didn't help. He then started the clinic and over time they fell in love and Ichigo was born. The only reason Masaki died is due to the hollowfiction "tainting" her pure Quincy blood, which had her affected by Auswahlen, as well as Katagiri who also died. Ichigo is ready to return.

Episode 13 and the title at the end of it THE BLADE IS ME So originally the "Yhwach" inside Ichigo supressed his Soul Reaper powers, wanting him to be safe. But, natureally, as things wen along he started to want to support Ichigo. Both Zangetsu in fact never lied to Ichigo. Even when Ichigo didn't trust the hollow form, it always insisted that it was in fact Zangetsu. Now, Ichigo has I believe the third set of twin Zanpakuto in the soul society, the others belonging to Ukitake and Shunsui. But, one represents the quincy part, and the other the soul reaper. Although it's more like Human/Quincy/Fullbring/Hollow/Soul Reaper. It's nice to see everyone else training to the next battle. Alos, Mashiro being a SUPER lieutenant with a gold badge LMFAO. I get it Hisagi, but I mean, come on, Kensei is the dude that definately has a right to trash talk Tousen. At the end it revealed that Uryu has joined Yhwach!
