Well in a way yes but losing his crew was what made luffy use every inch of his strength to save Ace which was the core of the arc

 

You will come to respect them when you reach later arcs and those old op becomes notalgic

 

Op 1 and op 3 have started to hit me with the nostalgia already

Yup it was for me when I reached 200+ and later on when I was at 600+ the latter op became nostalgic
Now the marineford and post time skip one feels quite nostalgic
