I know many a dude on Game Debate still on Windows 7 but with top end modern rigs with 2020-21 hardware. Gamers just loved 7.

Win 10's start menu I actually liked, but I do have issues with it.

I liked the metro tile start menu in 8/8.1...

 

Majority of people complained about it. But I personally liked it.

 

I am curious if Win 11 will be free to get in a certain amount of days to obtain to be free. That's how I got Win 10 when it the internet.

 

Truth is: If I go to GD and say I liked the Win 8/8.1 Metro start menu, I'd likely be hounded

Windows 11 will reportedly be free to upgrade for anyone who has a legitimate i.e. not pirated copy of Windows 7 or 10 (though not 8) with no time limit. The caveats are: you must have a CPU of Intel 8th gen (or 7th if MS decides to lower the requirements) or Ryzen 1st gen with TPM 2.0 installed and enabled; you also have to have a GPU compatible with DX12 and with specifically DX12_1 feature level.

Since I literally didn't understand any of that! I'll wait and see if I qualify for it .
