The best way to be weeb is not it let it seep in your real life, because once the barrier separating your real life and anime disappears, its over. You won't be able to enjoy anything and nothing in life could bring your joy anymore because without a doubt fiction is better than fact. Consuming anime and other media is a part of your comfort zone and you don't bring your comfort zone out in the open. Of course, discussing it with your friends and others is ok, but obsessing about anime culture like an otaku and shaping your entire personality around anime is cringe in my opinion. Also anime shouldn't be used as a medium for escapism, but unfortunately 90% of them have no inherent message and are just there to make you forget about how shitty your life is.

I don't think I agree with this statement (If I understood this correctly). I feel like some anime if not many I watched had a nice message and I literally got connected to some on personal level, be it 'cause I experienced the same thing in real life or something else.

Again idk what kind of anime you enjoy but most of anime I rate highly, I am connected to them on personal lvl, as in I feel compassion, idk if I used that word correctly but I think you got the idea.

I'll go a step further and say that anime helped me massively in times when I was heavy depressed just 'cause I felt the compassion and it reflected my state at that moment, like 3-gatsu no lion.
