The tobacco industry as a whole in India was worth around INR 12 lakh crore at the start of the pandemic, and they pay around INR 35k to 40k crore in taxes.

They're well known as India's largest Gutka maker, and the Dhariwal family (the conglomerate's owner) is among the wealthiest and most influential families in the country; they're just less well known among the common public than the likes of Ambani, Adani, Tatas, Birlas, and Bajaj.
