I kid you not: I feel the same way.

Next year when I visit my sister and bro-in-law in Germany, I kind of want to also visit Croatia, Poland, and Denmark so I can see you, @Schpittfeuer , and may be @Coffee Cat if I ever get a hold of her.

Getting fed up looking at laptops. I just want to order another Aspire 7 (same model as mine).

But the wife is like: I don't want the same model as yours. Get me a different one. I don't want an identical piece.

And I'm like: Why does it matter? It's solidly built and has excellent specs for price. Let me order one.

Yeah, you have the option of i5-10400H, i5-11320H, i5-1235U, i5-1240P but with the same GPU (GTX 1650M GDDR6 refresh) with 8 GB single channel or 16 GB dual channel RAM and 512 GB NVMe SSD. The i5-1235U and 1240P seem like the best bets, as they offer performance roughly comparable to the Ryzen 5 5500U for only slightly more power consumption (about 10 Watt more only). They also come with Windows 11 installed.

Best thing about buying from the same line is that they both have the same charger, so we can use each other's if anything should happen to one.

 

Yeah, those are 12th gen i5 CPUs. They're roughly on par with the Ryzen 5 5000 series in performance and don't do too shabbily in terms of power efficiency (which is a bonus for battery life). They still run a bit hotter than Ryzen 5/7 and tend to throttle themselves more when pushed to their limits. Though since the wife won't play anything more demanding than some RTS titles that won't push the laptop like Far Cry 6 or Cyberpunk, it shouldn't be an issue.
