    We all do, just recently it was announced that the drawing program I use, Clip Studio Paint (formerly Manga Studio) is going to become subscription based after years of being touted as a more affordable option for drawing software

    Also microsoft is already testing ads in file explorer so lol

    Nah I'm just memeing, don't get your hopes up.

    Linux is shit as far as most people are concerned because you can't use many essential programs like Office and are stuck with alternatives that aren't fully compatible like Libre Office. And on a more specific side if you're like my gf you'll be using programs like Autocad which are industry standard and without them or some other non-linux available alternative you're not gonna find a job.

    Microsoft has done a good job making their system necessary for work (unless you wanna go Apple but that's just a different load of bullshit). Linux is good for sysadmins, some developers and maybe very casual use which includes gaming to a degree but if you wanna use a Linux machine for your job that's not what I listed it's gonna suck.

    Windows 10 was also the last windows upgrade and they lied about that, so I'm sure somewhere in whatever lifetime license you get there is wording they can get out of it.
