Hoping 2025 drags on for 21 months to make up for it

Higher end GPUs may see a price increase. Not sure about the mid-range? From what I've heard/read, RTX 5060 has performance comparable to or even slightly above RTX 4070 for the same price as RTX 4060. Only drawback seems to be the VRAM. We'll have to wait and see. The RTX 5070, I know nothing about. RTX 5080 and 5090 will be inexcusably expensive for sure.

Oof... I saw one leak which indicates some disappointments in terms of specs. Switch 2 will be seeing a side-grade rather than an upgrade in terms of CPU and GPU hardware. There are upgrades on the storage and RAM fronts, though.

If Nintendo doesn't provide a reasonable upgrade in literally the two most important areas after eight bloody years, can you really call it a "banger"?

But, hey, let's wait and see what is in store.

 

It was confirmed it will be at least PS4 level of power which is honestly massive.

That's actually quite impressive for a handheld. However, it is nothing new. There are a few handhelds (and cheaper ones at that) on the market right now with that level of power already. They're nigh unheard of, sure. But they're from small companies that are up and coming. You would expect a company as massive as Nintendo to do better.

I'll buy into the hype around Squid Games when Dong-hyuk grows a pair, comes out of the closet and says what he wants to about his country, and returns the Order of Cultural Merit he was awarded on moral grounds. Until then, meh...

 

RTX 5060 is a weird one. It supposedly benchmarks 5% above RTX 4070, but has some issues with the VRAM? It should theoretically be okay for anyone looking for a Jack-of-all-trades rig at 1080p, but not anything more - especially if you want it to run demanding titles three years down the line at decent settings.

ALSO I don't think you both realize how massive 2018 system in terms of spec is for Nintendo.

We can both agree the next gen stuff is a myth and when you realize many incredible games came out on PS4 it will be massive.

More than ever, because Nintendo never in their lifespan had a console as strong as this. Well...if the rumors are true.

The jump between PS4 and PS5 is mediocre at best. It's an absolute myth.

Switch managed to outsell Sony and Xbox with a phone like system, they'll absolutely body both again no doubt even with a 2018 spec console because...they don't need to compete with power at all.
