    I would assuming it'd be either the server or it loading something externally which is the limiting factor on how fast it can load lol or it's each connection is throttled.

    Why would they throttle the connection on such important websites? What could possible be the advantage?

    More than likely it's underfunded and they don't have appropriate resources for it to handle high load scenarios. Typically tax portals would largely be used during key due dates but other times has much less traffic so presumably they aren't allotted enough money to have the website "overbuilt" most of the time and then it being perfectly functional in high load scenarios too. So they likely just throttle all connections as a means to balance the load the website endures to mitigate effective "DDOSing".

    Ah, I see.

    I call BS on the "underfunding", though. The company that made them (the GST portal and new Income Tax portal) was paid quite a hefty sum. But you know India under Modi. A few big players ate up much of that money, with a minority of the allocated funding actually going towards the portal itself.

    That's what I mean. xD They probably can't allow full speed connections otherwise it'd just get DDOSed so it's likely rate limited.

    Dude, I have so little faith in Infosys and our government, that I refuse to believe they actually thought of this, and that it actually is that bad. These people are a special breed of stupid.
