Got a fine taste of migraine inducing government logic today.

Officer: Sir, Sree Lakshmi Enterprises have not filed their GST returns for July and August.
Me: There was an error with preparing returns for July. You haven't allowed for a proper revision option and the portal will not allow us to file returns for August unless we file July's return.
Officer: Get it paid and then file August's.
Me: This is a small family business run by an old woman and her husband. They can't pay that amount of tax which is wrong to begin with.
Officer: But they'll get credit for next month no sir?
Me: They can't pay that much.
Officer: Somehow get it paid or at least submit August's return without filing no sir. Then pay August's liability.
Me: The portal won't allow us to even submit without July's return being filed.
Officer: Then do something about July's return sir.
Me: You people gave no option for a revision, you made a bloody convoluted system, you still have not given provision for proper revision, and you tell me to do something about all this?
Officer: What can I do sir? I'm just going by the list they gave me and making calls.
Me: You called me twice yesterday and once again today.
Officer: Well how much time you need sir. This has to get done no sir?
Me: Yes, this has to get done. So when in bloody hell are you introducing a revised return option?
Officer: That I don't know sir. That is central government's job to do sir.
Me: Then we can't do anything about July's return on our end. Good day.
Officer: But sir, something should be done about July's return.
