Was playing the Thrawns Revenge mod of Empire At War, and man, the Empire actually managed to humble me... They had: 6 ISD 2s, 4 ISDs, 13 Victory SDs, 6 Victory 2s, 15 Carracks.

My forces:

1 Executor, 4 ISD 2s, 6 Venators, 6 Victory SDs, and 1 Praetor.

Not only did dozens of TIE bombers cripple my Executor to the point where the ISDs shot it down easily as it arrived, my Praetor barely limped away, the Victories surrounded and wiped my ISDs when I wasn't looking, and the Carracks and half the ISDs smashed through my Venators who were sitting back... All that got away were the Victories and half of a Praetor.

Very sad I lost the Executor, I have a limited supply of those. Going to bring a lot more carriers and not throw my SSD at them immediately next time. Maybe bring some corvettes, we need smaller doritos...

 

Is it a visible white lump above the skin? Or is it hard to make out and a lump seemingly under the skin?

This is how the Imperial Remnant vs New Republic battles usually turned out in both Legends and Canon. The imperials would throw their capital ships into the mix. Meanwhile, the Republic's interceptors would tear through the imperial starfighters & bombers while their strike fighters and bombers would soften up the imperial capital ships (then to be finished off by the Republic's Mon Calamari cruisers).
