I thought the fact that Madara became a woman was the lone shining light in his otherwise insipid character. Why? Because after he got the gender change for free by BZ he kicked the bucket. This portrays gender bending in a negative light and encourages us, the readers to stay true to ourselves. People like Lady Byakugan are an object lesson which show us how screwed up your mind becomes when you gender bend, and Kishi is clearly trying to discourage this practice. Have a nice life.
