    I've only read reviews about him, so I can't say about the actual manga, but everyone says he's badass, and since it's a seinen, that gives the MC more room to do what he wants, unlike the typical shounen.

    You should really read Berserk, tbh. There's like 5+ (can't remember exactly) volumes of his back-story from his childhood. The development is real.

    Berserk. Vinland is good too, but sort of become some-what shounen-y. It's about peace, so to be expected, honestly.
