Discussion Darling in the FranXX

Episode 4 was pretty good. Had a hearty kek at Mitsuru sperging out with PTSD after whatever Zero Two was doing whilst piloting. If I were to guess, based on what Hiro was saying at the end, is them piloting, or being over exerted by the female parasite can cause death or is killing them slowly. Kinda cringe that after little time doing 2 things together Hiro is already in love, but I suppose it can happen. Was cool how quick they dealt with the threat.

 

Episode 5 was.. interesting. A cute moment with Zero Two feeding Hiro after smothering it in I assume Honey or Maple Syrup. Beyond that, due to the success, she's now moved in with them. The mental state of Mitsuru is still out of it. It's kind of strange, though. The kids don't know about a kiss or even seemingly any sort of emotion, or what it means. They're all so confused. The confrontation with Ichigo and Zero Two also showed Zero Two to be a rather callous character. She doesn't seem to actually care about Hiro. If he died, then that just means he didn't amount to much. She's seemingly using him for her own gain, or pleasure, or perhaps it's just some twisted form of "love." The ending showed Hiro to disregard himself completely for Zero Two. Or perhaps it's the feelings he gets, or just the fact that he is of use.

 

Episode 6 was okay. So Ichigo couldn't tell Hiro her true feelings. The action was pretty good seeing them all fight the klaxosaurs. Then seeing Strelizia dominate was great. Then they got rekt. I enjoyed the moment of Hiro dying and further bonding with Zero Two. It also showed her when she operates alone it seemingly causes immense pain. Not sure what fuckery happened to make that thing on Hiro recede tho. Also the end set up a massive red flag for Hiro. "If I can be your wings, then even if my life burns out, I will keep leaning on you right here."

 

Episode 7 was a bit over the place. Can't recall if it was in last episode, but pretty sure it was at the start of this episode, Ichigo seemed to relent with her feelings and be fine with Zero Two and Hiro's relationship. Then she gets involved with Zero Two in the conversation about kisses, Then at the end she obviously has feelings for Hiro too. Also hate this cliche so much. Girl says something important to the guy. Something unimportant occurs on screen and it's just ignored. **** right off with that trash.

The abandoned town they found is obviously a key plot point to this entire shady cult like group. I feel like the kids all die young and the shit they get keeps the older people alive indefinitely as some kind of psuedo immortality or some shit. Idk, rather convenient the excuse for the beach episode was somewhere the could snoop into the old civilization ruins conveniently despite it being covered up what is really going on. Like they would overlook that.

 

Done with ep 8. I'm surprised they got all offended at being exposed seeing as they seem to not really know emotions to an extend along with intimacy. Zero Two's warning seems like a red flag.

 

Man, this episode made me feel bad for Goro. Always a step behind Hiro. Then Hiro just moves onto the next girl after the other one is infatuated. lol. Some more love triangle shit . Ichigo and that rescuing him was good and he finally told her his feelings. Predictably she couldn't respond.

 

Episode 10 just introduces more questions, lol. The visit to the city was a let down at the start, then Zorome wondered off goofing. I assume the old lady he met was his mother or something. Tbh, it gave me the creeps seeing her partner with that grin that seemed psychotic. Seemingly she doesn't need to eat too. Just seems more and more like prolonging life. Also, wonder what she said to him or if they were interrupted. Also, the kids are "infected" I assume t his means with whatever virus or whatever to do with the klaxosaurs. Idk.

 

Episode 11 was just some partner/romance drama shit. Kokoro was doing it to help Mitsuru who admires Hiro but due to an unknown broken promise, is betrayed and hates him now, sorta. The fight was cool.

 

Episode 12 was interesting. I'm sure they inject the kids with like Klaxosaur blood or something. I'm sure the non-human transformation would mutate them and I'm sure Zero Two is just an experiment like a Klaxosaur and Human child or something. They've mentally fucked her into thinking the more she kills or devours human's then she will become human. I'm sure the Darling from back then is just Hiro too.

 

Damn, episode 13 was great. It's good at making you despise the adults and leaders of whatever that place is. Zero Two is definitely an experiment and the kids too, but she more so. It was pretty brutal the way they experimented on her and very sad. I enjoyed how Hiro broke her away and the moments that they shared. Then they were broken apart and finally re-united .

 

Episode 14 was a drama episode. Zero Two having a breakdown. Them not letting Zero Two speak to Hiro. Then due to a misunderstanding she lashed out. Then Hiro did the worst thing in that moment and called her a monster. RIP. Cut to end and Ichigo's confession.

 

Episode 15 was fantastic. I liked how as she was losing herself to it, she was wanting someone to help her. Pretty messed up how that squad was ordered to self destruct too. Hiro ended up not being able to stand it anymore and came to the front lines in the training pod and then based Gorou has enough of the shit and helps Hiro get to Zero Two through Ichigo. Then Ichigo goes ham and beats it down whilst taking a beat down to deliver Hiro to Zero Two. Then Hiro snaps her out of it as they make up. Then they kicked major ass. That giant ass hand at the end tho. AAAAAAAAH.

 

Episode 16 was enjoyable. Nice to see them turning over a new leaf. By the looks of it, it won't last long.

 

Episode 17 was okay. Kokoro's got really into wanting to have a kid to pass something on for the future. Then had the argument with Nana who is in pain overcoming the mental conditioning. The dude has reported shit to "father" ugh. Seems like Kokoro will get her kid.. Interested in the Klaxosaur Queen the most out of this ep.
