Episode 18 was something. Bout to have a wedding (which still feels out of place) and then boom! Taken away to be literally mind fucked. So I was also correct, they are after immortality. And humans seem to be working with aliens or something. The calling of "bodies" as "shells" also occurs in real life in some supernatural discussions, interesting.

 

Really enjoyed episode 19. Huge amount of information dumped! No one seems to know what those people are. Or aliens or whatever that basically took over. Confirmed as I suspected the fuel was used to create immortality. Then everything went to shit. It was sad to see the doctor's descent into madness after he lost his lover. Then as the experiments for their survival continued they eventually stumbled upon the Queen whom he got hairs to create Zero Two. Sounds like an ominous end is incoming for Zero Two.

 

Episode 20 was pretty good. I'm surprised they didn't abort Kokoro's baby that she's obviously with. Rather sloppy job. The big "plot twist" of VIRM being the true enemy was rather obvious. It most notably became apparent during the whole backstory episode where Dr Franxx stated that no one knew where they came from. With them being the enemy, it only makes sense the Klaxosaur are good.

 

Episode 21 was pretty good. Was good seeing those shits got overwhelmed. Dr. Franxx did all of that inhumane shit to try and save humanity and the earth and was then fittingly crushed to death. Zero Two and the Klaxosaur Princess combined powers to super charge the Stelizia. Zero Two seems dead at the end. RIP.

 

Episode 22 was alright. Basically just rebuilding after VIRM left. Kokoro is indeed pregnant. Rather obvious. The soil has been so fucked form the mining of that stuff that it's not suitable for plant growth. RIP. Yay for OG Nana coming back. Zero Two's mind being in space fighting alone. RIP. I'm sure it'll be a big finish when they get there and Hiro pilots with her. Also Dr. Franxx saved all of those discarded people. Nice.

 

Episode 23 was pretty good. "Eat me, Zero Two." - Hiro 2018. Kokoro and Mitsuki's feelings overcame even memory removal. Didn't expect Zero Two merging with the robot, but that was pretty neat. One final episode of this ride!

 

And done! So Hiro and Zero Two did sacrifice themselves and both die as anticipated. It was nice seeing everyone grow up and humanity coming back from nothing. What a wholesome ending, with no one being really left out. Although, poor Ikuno doesn't look like she has long left. The ending with the re-incarnated Zero Two and Hiro was a nice touch as well. Not sure why it gets all of the hate. I enjoyed the story in all.

I actually don't. Basically everything that happened was already rather obvious and eluded to in the story.

 

It was a bit of a clustre **** of things in the start. Some of it really wasn't needed.
