    Yes and no

    Both manga and anime were given key plot points for story arcs and were left to do the rest. Anime and manga take different routes to get to those plot points so while events are similar some big things are different for example some characters play a bigger role like Gohan actually wearing Piccolo outfit and Goku never using SSBKK
