Forum Sections Re-organisation complete

You are giving new things to members which are already active,SD has more functions than any other forum out there.It's good enough to start.You'd think you'd make new stuff when new members come.With making new things you lose the focus on getting new members here which SHOULD be in focus atm.

"SD is active as five to six people are regularly posting and that is the key to a successful forum." Sorry that's just not good enough.What you want are new threads and new discussions...Spamming forum games won't bring you activity since why would someone join SD for forum games...

How long is SD in the making? 1 year? it's just not good enough that in one whole year forum didn't get at LEAST 10 users which are online no matter when you log in.

 

But what is there to hold their interest at this point? surely not not posting new threads and discussions,SD is living off forum games and off topic chat,other sections like anime discussion and things are just dead.Rarely any person would join the forum for forum games and shiz.

I get that you want to make things better but first focus on getting members rather than improving and improving stuff for "no1"

I think @lojzini has a point, we should spread out the activity.

 

You guys have a good setup - though the forum may be a bit big for the current total userbase and the active members. If activity among sections is too far spread out, the sections that get the least attention will die. So the trick is to go general; not specific.

Social sections are vital, but are sort of clique-y in nature, since you usually get a close knit group who are already familiar with the forum residing there, which is why activity skyrockets.

For instance: The Library could just be one section that hosts both literature discussion and written works. Have Writer's Desk be made into a subforum. You could get rid of Recommendations entirely and just allow the General/Anime manga section to do it's thing and set up Weekly Rec threads instead. The Review section is a good idea, so keep that, and maybe make a Tumblr associated with it to draw in more users.

The Feature Series section could rotate. Study the google trends and what anime/manga is becoming the hottest thing, leave it up for a month, then archive and place all the discussions in the General/Anime Manga section. Rinse and repeat - find a new manga/anime that can attract a small audience. That way you're not betting on one thing to help the forum survive, but many, via meta tags and Google.

I think The Library would fare better as a sub forum within Writer's Desk. That way the focus will first fall on the works posted by SD members and then it will go to literary discussions.
Recommendations section, I agree is better of been done in Anime/Manga Discussion section perhaps even in a stickied thread. If that section goes we can replace it with reviews which has more potential to attract users than the recommendations section.

1st Forum : GFX Hall
2nd Forum : Fan Arts
3th Forum : Fan Club
4th Forum : Writer's Desk
1st sub forum : The Library

This will ensure that people will focus on the works of SD members first and then they can discuss Literary works in The Library.
