Discussion Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Episode 21 was great. So it turns out that Serie was Frieren's master's master. The master of the great Flamme. Interesting. Frieren schooled Denken with little effort. She also dismantled the "unbreakable" barrier. She's such a menace. With the barrier down and it raining, Richter was dealt with by Kanne and Lawine. With a fist fight, Denken and Richter were able to get their own bird.

 

Episode 22 was great. The test concluded. When Fern and Frieren arrived back to meet Stark, Fern wasn't impressed with his staying up late and sleeping late. They and some of the other teams had dinner at a nice place. In the morning Fern was mad again as Frieren forgot to shop. They ended up running into Kanne and Lawine, the latter was dressed up by her brothers. Some sweets calmed Fern down and poor Stark was kidnapped by Scharf and Wirbel. The second test has also been announced.

 

Episode 23 was good. So the next test is to conquer a labrynth. This one is called the Ruined King's Tomb. People have mostly split up into their original groups over working together as a large unit, as Denken wanted. Freiren fell for mimics a few times, in hopes of finding a grimoire. They also have the proctor tagging along. The main obstacle of the dungeon is clones of the people that have entered it. That's rough. Denken, Richter, Laufen and the extra are up against Frieren's clone now. Gonna be rough.

 

Episode 24 was good. So Denken, Richter, Laufen and Methode were forced to retreat from the Frieren clone. Übel and Land had a slightly rough time with Übel's clone, but were able to defeated it. Frieren also found a hidden room which had a "masterpiece" mural from the Unified Dynasty era. Frieren, Fern and the proctor Sense met up with Denken's group. After coming up to speed with Freiren's clone, Fern thinks she can kill the Frieren clone. Sense's clone was almost too much for Edel, Dünste and Blei. Edel had to retreat but the other two continued. Ehre, Scharf and Wirbel managed to also defeat their clones.

 

Episode 25 was good. Dünste and Blei met up with the large group. Kanne and Lawine also arrived. Turns out that is a little familiar with the dungeon thanks to her eldest brother. A plan was hatched thanks to Fern exposes Frieren's weakness. We also got a bit more background to Freiren, Serie and Flamme. Clone Frieren was dealt with.

 

Episode 26 was good. So it looks like the clone wasn't actually defeated at the end of the last episode and the battle continues. Meanwhile, the other groups deal with the other clones. The matchups were decided by who felt like their worst match up was, then reversed for the clones. Where possible. Richter and Lawine were eliminated. Übel's magic can cut through anything she thinks she can (see in her mind) cut through. She could see that she could cut through Sense's hair, so was able to and defeated her. Even though it was imbued with a lot of magic. Last exam, Übel also killed the second exam proctor by cutting him in half, envisioning she cut through his cloak, which was likewise imbued with a lot of magic. In the end, clone Frieren and the real enemy were defeated and they passed the text. The third test is up next!

 

Episode 27 was good. It started off rough with Frieren telling Fern to throw away her staff due to the tremendous damage that it incurred. She didn't really consider Fern's feelings on the matter, which prompted a dispute. Frieren was lead to Richter's shop who, after complaining, relented and repaired the staff. Fern was very grateful. Serie ended up deciding to pass or fail people on the final test, based on how they reacted to her mana and how she gauged them. So far she failed everyone including Frieren, with the exception of Fern. She complained that Frieren basically rigged the test lol.

 

Lol it's 28.

 

Episode 28 was good. Definitely seems like Frieren was failed out of spite lmao. A lot actually passes. Fern, Denken, Übel, Land (who it turns out only ever sent clones to the exams lol), Wirbel and Methode. We got some interactions with Fern, Frieren, Stark and Denken, and Frieren and Wirbel. Interesting. When Fern and the others were receiving their privileges, Frieren was confronted by Lernen who demanded a duel so that he was "remembered in history" when he died. Frieren declined and seems like it comes from Serie not being goo at expressing herself lol. The spell Fern picked as a reward was to clean clothes down to the thread lol.

 

Doesn't really feel at all like either of those to me.
