Ayye late night coloring -> random ideas and no time to finish BG thanks for the feedback!

Yours is one of those that I voted :D (the other ones being wowee's, Machi's and Broki's) I liked the explosion of colors in the background, I found it quite artistic ^^. A regret is that the foreground doesn't stand out enough from the background, whereas on the original pic, it looks like the foreground is lighter than the background, so imo it would help if BG had been darker and characters lighter. Nice sword btw ^^

Edit: just noticed that the lighting on the characters' skin seems to come from the sword actually, so I guess some purplish lighting on their faces and arms would be great :D

 

Lol, fair The original light source was supposed to be a random ball of light in their faces, but the panel had the bottom part of her dress lightened so I just went with whatever without paying much attention lol. I'm trying, D:

For yours, I didn't really like the color combinations/ environment effects(I know you hate gfx though so that's more understandable ;-; )For example the girl's torso coming out of the sword is cyan-y, but the girl's arm from the same sword is yellow? It's brightness also makes it look like light, but the girl seems barely affected by it and keeps a reddish skin tone.
There's also no real focus value-wise (the foreground would be too similar and blended in with the background, if the coloring was black and white), so the main thing that captured my attention were the sound effects because of how bright they are.
Otherwise, the shading/hl was quite well done and some of the background color details enjoyable so overall gj/


Was secretly rooting for a tie, but congrats to the winners, good edition :D

 

Yellow is magic circles
Cyan is body turning to info
look at 100% size and ull skin being ripped in pieces in shape of DNA .
The yellow part is magic circle which is correlating to sword circles

the girl got double shading with cyan near torse and arm rip off area, rest was fire LS doing the illumination hence only at edges cuz its a night scene Hence cloths/skin/wines and pmuchh all got edges yellow shading due to it coming from fire.
color combo wasnt much choice with being official scheme for chars and sword being huge. So needed a different color to stick out from BG

otherwise yea, Fire was shit,lightening was shit and more and more stuff in BG kept popping up so **** fire.

well fire gonna be bright

eh no, skin shading came from fire - major, then secondary was girl turning into information part [ hence the girl torso and boy arm getting cyan shade]
sword was unrelated to it when it came to skin shading.
