Synopsis

Sung Jin-Woo, dubbed the weakest hunter of all mankind, grows stronger by the day with the supernatural powers he has gained. However, keeping his skills hidden becomes more difficult as dungeon-related incidents pile up around him.

When Jin-Woo and a few other low-ranked hunters are the only survivors of a dungeon that turns out to be a bigger challenge than initially expected, he draws attention once again, and hunter guilds take an increased interest in him. Meanwhile, a strange hunter who has been lost for ten years returns with a dire warning about an upcoming catastrophic event. As the calamity looms closer, Jin-Woo must continue leveling up to make sure nothing stops him from reaching his ultimate goal—saving the life of his mother.

Episode 1 was good. Started out with Jin-Woo oversleeping to meet his sister's teacher. Jin-Woo dressed up nicely and he was getting fawned over lol. The teacher had nothing but good things to tell him about Jin-Ah. He also said to the teacher when asked, that he wouldn't let Jin-Ah become a hunter, even if she awakened.

Jin-Woo met up with Song-Yi after the meeting to somewhat try and dissuade her from being a hunter. She was adamant about continuing, so he's taken her to go on a raid to show her how dangerous it can be. A red gate unluckily opened when they went into the c-rank gate, and teleported them to an icy place. There are ice elves there which killed one out of the gate. Chul Kim took command splitting them into two groups. The "weaker" group being forced off, as they would "slow them down". Hee-Jin elected to go with that group with Jin-Woo, noticing that he noticed and reacted to the arrows before Chul Kim.

While Jin-Woo kept his group safe, killing bears, and the other group unfortunately got slaughtered basically. Chul Kim ended up running for his life. Jun Woo defeated all of the enemy bears, and resurrected the leader.

 

Episode 2 was good. Chul Kim ran straight back to Jin-Woo's group and was mind broken by how they were fine and basically camping. He was going to attack them, before Jin-Woo stepped in. It's revealed that Jin-Woo can speak to the ice elves and they don't have a "voice" telling them to attack him. In the middle of the fight, when Chul Kim went to attack Jin-Woo, he resurrected him to help fight the boss. Jin-Woo was able to overcome the boss eventually, getting the remaining survivors out safety.

 

Episode 3 was good. Jin-Ho was worried he was useless, and confessed he wished that Jin-Woo was his brother. Jin-Woo declared them brothers which made Jin-Ho ecstatic. Jin-Ho also convinced his father to let him take over the guild, on the conditions that he would get Jin-Woo to join.

Jin-Woo's father made it out of a dungeon after 10 years, and Dong-Soo was called in to question him. When Dong-Soo found the relation, he started a fight which swiftly ended in his defeat.

Jin-Woo went into the place with the key he got previously, and tried his best. He made it through 75 / 100 levels of the tower and levelled up a bit. He also has 2/3 things needed for the elixir of life to heal his mother.

 

Episode 4 was good. Jin-Woo went to get re-evaluated again to increase his rank. When he couldn't be measured, he became the 10th S-rank in Korea. Guilds approached Jin-Woo to join, but he shot them all down. The guild has kind of restricted his file though, due to the S-rank becoming into effect soon.

Jin-Woo joined a raid but on the mini team. He's quite the miner. When the lunch break was on, he tried to sneak off to peak at the boss, but was caught by Hae-In.

 

Episode 5 was good. Jin-Woo played it off that he got lost, and Hae-In seems to have bought it. She noted that he's the first hunter to smell good to her. With the mission complete, the miners begged Jin-Woo to join for double the pay. He declined, but agreed to attend one more double mine of a C-rank and A-rank the next day.

The mining went off a hitch in the C-rank. Jin-Woo joined the main task force to help carry/collect items. When going into the A-rank dungeon, they were attacked by dungeon jackals, then high orcs. The team was getting overwhelmed, before Jin-Woo discretely helped. He was noticed though, at least by Se-Mi. When the group tried to retreat, the portal was found to be blocked. The group was cornered by the rest of the high orcs, and they agreed to go with to meet the leader. The team seems to have accepted they'll die fighting and Jin-Woo will escape.

 

Episode 6 was good. The entire group was pretty much fucked and terrified from the boss, due to the extreme magic power it had. The dungeon was actually borderline S-rank. Jin-Woo asked if they minded if he dealt with things, and they all agreed. With his army vs the dungeon's it was a good fight, but Jin-Woo ultimately would be victorious thanks to both his mana potions and the ability to resurrect the enemy. He even got the floor boss out of it.

Hae-In also went in, pickaxe in hand.. and witnessed Jin-Woo first hand. The other people of the hunter's guild also entered and classified Jin-Woo's abilities and performance to try and keep it under wraps for the moment.

 

Episode 7 was good. The actor Min-Sung was having a press conference he was told not to have in front of the hunter's association. He is using this and his A-rank status bury his controversies then return to his acting career. They tried to get Jin-Woo to leave, but they were quickly shut down by the chairman.

Jin-Woo was officially assessed as S-rank which broke the new, and took all of the attention away from Min-Sung. Jin-Woo has turned down ever request to join up with a guid. He's placed some look outs while going to complete the tower from level 75. Looks like the ants are also on the mainland now.

 

Episode 8 was good. Jin-Woo discovered the demon he was fighting was a female named Esil who begged for her life after having her helmet knocked off. Jin-Woo agreed and she attacked again when he turned his back. With the second defeat, she begged for her life again, and he agreed if she could help him with the permit. He agreed. Her father wasn't happy when Jin-Woo appeared, but eventually Jin-Woo got the permit, and then borrowed Esil as a guide.

Jin-Woo made it all the way to the demon monarch on the 100th floor. The fight was extremely tough and Jin-Woo almost lost, but thanks to Esil and him digging deep, he came out on top. The demons also were summoned from another place and have a voice issuing orders to them. Previously, they were preparing for a big war.

Outside, an ant made it to land in Japan. It killed a lot of people before being killed by an A-rank. Japan and Korea are allying to take care of the ants. Japan is sending 10 S-ranks, to distract the ants while Korea kills the queen.

 

I forgot about the whole ant thing that is like copy pasted from hxh.

 

They're lucky it's a cool concept

 

Yeah. I think that solo leveling had the opposite problem. It was over too quick with barely any build up so it's incredibly forgettable. Like most of the characters are kind of forgettable too because it's 99% focused on the MC.
