The Tavern: The Birth of an Adventure

Esca just blinks a little bit. "Cybertron got it, Well that is interesting. I was not imagining you being able to teleport at all. Okay my turn" Esca says grabbing her Journal she opens up to a page and reads quietly to herself the contents of it then hands it to Dessa. "Just say read to me" she informs her "You should be able to hear my voice come from the page. Its a spell called magic mouth"

The page reads
"For lost I am with you
I have left you to find me.
While we use to eat sugared plums
now we feed those sugared plums"

She turns to Dessa "Can you do anything cool? I am sure you can"

 

I believe I have heard of the place before. *Dessa says scratching her head as the bartender comes back with their food. She listens to the talking around her while putting ketchup on her fries, and burger.*

 

I can do a little magic but not much. The magic school in my town was damaged in a fire, and never rebuilt. *Dessa tells Esca while going for a bite of her burger*

 

"Teleporting is only one of many skills I possess." Shockwave replies with a tilt of his head. "You would not be able to see the other abilities in so small a space without me causing structural damages."

 

Esca hears Dessa and is a bit dishearten. "That is a shame. But you are you and that's what is important not some magic spell" she says as her dumplings have arrived.

"Yeah that wouldn't be great I rather no have to explain why the bar or whatever was damaged. Most of my spells are supportive I know a fair amount of spells to fight but most of my abilities are support." Esca says then eating a dumpling

 

Yes, lets not damage the bar with wild magic Shockwave.

Sadly, Esca the town just doesn't have the money to rebuild things. Times have changes in Raven Cross, and not for the better. *Dessa shrugs her shoulders, eating half of the chicken wrap on her plate.*

 

"Well that sucks, the poor get spat on again" Esca says hearing about Raven Cross "Its like that in so many places the government ignores the plights of the paupers in favor of the wealthy or those who have an advantage. To them such areas may as well not even exist" She says using her fork for emphasis before eating another dumpling.

 

"Not magic," he replies, shaking his head. "You can't describe it as magic. It has its own method of being done."

 

So true Esca and that's why I packed all my things, and left. I'm hoping things are better here.

Oh, so it's kind of apart of y'all dna so to speak? *Dessa asked Shockwave, before sipping from her new bottle of beer.*

 

"Sort of, yes." He agreed, leaning back against the booth and picking up his new bottle of beer. "You could say that it is part of my core makeup, I do not know if I have DNA like you do. I have never been the doctor type."

 

*Pops an eyebrow at that statement* Seems like I'm learning more every day. Glad I decided to move here, because I got to met the both of you. *Dessa smiles broadly at the both of them.*

 

Esca listens to all of this while eating. "We are glad to have met you as well Dessa" Esca says to the woman, Esca finishes her last dumpling.
"Oh Dessa you mentioned you moved here right well there is this man who is a cheat and liar he will try to make you gamble all of your money on a stupid shell game that you cannot win, oh uh and welcome I mean I am the most local of us three here I suppose uhm well Dessa is now if she moved here." Esca says sipping at her drink.

 

Thanks for the warning Esca, I'll be sure to stay far away from that guy. *Dessa replied in a slightly grumpy voice.* Yes, I've moved into a little cottage just out side of town. It's a little ways into the woods in the east.

 

"There is a gambling game with fixed odds?" His mask shone brighter, the purple hues becoming almost vibrant. "I wish to see this and try my luck."

 

"He will come by this town every now and then, I am not sure if he is living here or travels here though I've run into him a few times normally around the weekends when more people are out" Esca tells them
"The game is just not possible to win!" she says with certainty
