The town of Aynderil

"It's my pleasure having the two of you here as guest Esca." Dessa opens the door to her own room. "Goodnight Shockwaves, and Esca see you tomorrow for a fresh start. She closes the door, then crawls into her own bed. With in minutes Dessa is fast asleep.

 

During the night Esca sleep soundly. She dreams about a scene from her earlier years. Its vague and inaccurate as manything seem to come and go out of nowhere events are disconjounted and speratatic. But Esca is at her old home inside is her Mum a gnome like Esca, cooking an early morning meal for her family. Esca walks over and greets her mum eyes still waking up. "Smells good" she says to her as she washes her face. "Go wake your brother" she is told, and she goes to wake him but when she enters his room she finds herself in a classroom filled with students and random objects throughout figures plastered throughout and up at the front is a man about twice her height he has short blond hair and a long brown coat made of fabrics and leathers, decorated with many interesting items such as beaker and gadgets. Next to them is a small wooden man one used by artist. They put their finger on the back of it and it begins to move. "That class is what Artfice can do" they say as the wooden figure bows to the class.
Esca wakes up when she hears in her dream her mum ask if he is up yet.

She wakes up at about five in the morning.

 

Shockwave does not sleep, none of his kind do, instead he goes into a sort of hibernation where he recharges his energy stores and his mind processes the events of the day. He for all intents and purposes appears to be lifeless, nearly catatonic on the bed. He eventually stirs and raises to a seated position as the rays of the early morning sun pierce through the window. He rubs at his visor and stands, stretching. He sighs as a joint pops before opening the door and slowly making his way downstairs, standing in front of and observing one of the bookshelves along the wall

 

Dessa sleeps deeply during half of the night, but an old dream makes her jerk awake. It was the same dream she always has the night the Magic School in, Raven Cross burns down. The only thing she always seems to remember is, standing at the corner near the bakery. Watching the School burn and spotting two strange men running for the woods. Dessa was to far away to see their faces, and to scared to go after them being how she was only 16 at the time.

"I really wish I didn't have that stupid dream any more." She grumbles while getting ready for a new day. Dessa makes her way down stairs wearing a black shirt that sits inches from her belly button, showing off a belly ring. Tight fitting leather pants that hug her long slim athletic legs. Finishing off her outfit are the new boots she bought.

 

It is early in the morning Esca had just gotten up she pats her face and takes out a small piece of copper wire running her finger along it she cast the spell sending. "Hello Abie. Its Esca I have something I need to ask you about. I am hoping your expertise in artifice can help." She says as her message is sent to its recipient. She hears a message returned into her head "Ah Esca hope you have been well. I see intresting will you be coming here or me there?" Abie asks their voice crisp and clear in her head. "I will get you here in some hours I want to give them time to wake up" she responds back.

Esca can hear the stirring of activity outside of the room she after checking on her stuff makes her way outside of the room down stairs.

 

"Morning Shockwave." Dessa say when spotting him in front of the bookshelves. She heads into the kitchen and takes everything out for, scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. Dessa hums to herself while putting the eggs into one of three pans. The other two pans are for the bacon and pancakes.

 

"Morning" Esca says as she steps off the staircase. Her satchel hung around her shoulder.
"Dessa I am going to be bring a person over we can choose another location if you want I don't want to impose myself on your home. But they are someone I think could help with Shockwave and the possibility of magic." Esca says to her entering the kitchen.

 

"I will allow them to come to my cottage, but just this once Esca. I don't really like a lot of strangers here on my property." She turns from the stove to talk with Esca. "I'm only allowing it because I trust the ward on the small field in the back." Dessa slightly turns around to take the bacon out the it's pan and flips the pancakes over so they don't burn.

 

"Got it. I am sure you have nothing to worry about with them." She says remembering back to her time in school Abie was an interesting fellow they were playful and always working on something. To them artificing was an extension of one's soul.
"Also while they are here you can talk to them about the magic school in Raven's Cross they are integrated with the system they might be able to help with that. Anyway after breakfast I am going out gonna be teleporting to Del Vonmere and will be back shortly afterwards. Thanks again" Esca says to Dessa.

 

"Good morning Dessa, Esca." Shockwave rumbles, turning with a novel that caught his attention, flipping it open to the first page. "Do you need my help with preparing breakfast Dessa?"

He sets the book down on a nearby table, crossing to the kitchen and leaning against the counter. "I don't want you to think I'm mooching."

 

"I wish them all the luck in the world with that. One of the reasons I left was because of the new leader of the Raven Cross, happens to own the gambling hall. His name is Kiril." Dessa replies to Esca.

"Sure would you please cut up the apples, oranges, and pears. You can put them into bowls, which are in that top cupboard near the stairs." She tells Shockwave.

 

"Sure, no problem." Shockwave replies, reaching up to grab the bowls from where she mentioned and then grabbing a few of the fruits. "Let me see if I can do this."

He reaches for the knife and then rapidly dices the fruits as requested in the blink of an eye, his hand blurring from the movement. "How's that?"

 

"Um, that will do it Shockwave" Dessa stands there blinking in confusion at how fast he cut up the fruit. "You keep surprising me with how fast you move around Shockwave."

 

"You would be surprised at the other talents I possess." Shockwave replies with a bow, emptying the diced up fruit on the cutting board into the bowls. "Need any other help?"

 

"You place the bowls of fruit on the table please." Dessa tells him, while taking the rest of the food out of their pans. She brings over the bacon, scrambled eggs, and pancakes. "Oh, could you please grab the butter, and syrup out of the fridge for the pancakes."
