"A dragon that be something, I don't think there are any dragon pulling carriages around." Esca says walking along side of them
"There are stories like that all over. Most of course are just that but it be so cool to be able to find the true ones and draw why I experience there" she says as the Stables come into sight.

 

"I was thinking more along the lines of it would be cool to have one for a pet." He replied with a tilting grin, his purple visor glowing. "You would be surprised to learn what you can when you open yourself up to the possibility of it."

 

Dessa shrugs her shoulders. "You never know what you might find in the forest Shockwave. You'll have to go exploring some time, and see if you get lucky." They walk over to the Stable Master, to see about a horse to rent and carriage to buy.

 

"I wouldn't say it was a pet and master relationship but there was a man ways back that fought alongside a dragon. He was believed to have a connection to the beast far beyond anyone in history even those with dragon blood in them. But like everyone he was mortal and he eventually passed away." Esca says giving a bit of history she has heard.

 

"Interesting," Shockwave muses. "I'd like to find and establish something similar myself. Where would one go to find such a thing?"

 

"Not really sure myself, be something we could discover though. I could see if any of the teachers at the academy would know. I may no longer attend but I see them around often enough and they still help me when I am trying to master new spells" Esca says as they choose a carriage and horse.

 

"Can anyone learn spells?" Shockwave probed as he loped along, his gait struggling to match those of his shorter companions. "I'm curious to know if I have the capability to exhibit spells. How do we decide on the best carriage and accompanying horses?"

 

"Well some have a more natural aptitude to it than others. For the most part however I would say yes but I don't know for sure there are a lot of people and I am sure there are some who just can't learn magic at all." Esca says to him about the magic part "I will let Dessa choose those things, I don't really ride horses and the carriage is for her"
"About you I could teach you a basic spell and see if you can do it. Sort of a proof of concept more than anything. Just so you have an idea watch" She says as she twist her hands holding a small piece of wychwood which then vanishes and in its place are three balls of floating light. "I will explain a bit more on the trip there about how it works. since its not just holding a piece of special wood and twisting your wrist."

 

"I just remember that I have some of my old spell books from school at home. They are for beginners so that might help you out Shockwave." Dessa points to a bright golden colored carriage that she likes. "Now that is the carriage of my dreams." She excitedly skips over to the carriage for a better look.

 

"Then let's get it." He rummages around underneath his cloak and pulls out several, large gold bars and hands them to Esca. "Is this enough? I'm not sure how much a carriage costs. I have more if we need them to purchase the horses too."

 

"That is far more than enough, I think it would be about 100gp for the carriage a bar of gold is about a thousand times if not more than that." She tells him handing him back the bars.
"Looks nice Dessa. We are going to be riding in style tonight"

 

"Whoa! One of those gold bars would help the Stable Master buy supplies for more carriages. Or hire new workers to help him build the carriage, and take care of the horses." Dessa says in a surprised voice at see all the gold bars. "You only live once so we might as well ride in style." She chuckles while hooking up the horses to the front of the carriage.

 

"You think so?" He asks, handing a gold bar to Dessa and Esca."Here's one for both of you then, hope it helps you out. I don't see a value in these and I've been carrying them around for a while, almost forgot I had them to be honest."

 

"Thank you Shockwave." Dessa slips the gold bar into a pocket of her shirt. "So is everyone ready to head out now or do ya'll want to try that little food bar. I know they have eggplant dishes there."

 

"I'm okay with trying the food bar so we save anyone from having to cook if that's what everyone else is okay with." Shockwave agrees, rolling his shoulders in a gentle shrug. "I'm also okay with learning how to cook them so I can make them again later."
