The town of Aynderil

The glowing green orb falls out of Dessa's hand and disappears when yanked behind her back. "I really hate bandits, because they are so stupid." Dessa growls while struggling with the woman holding her captive. Her right hand is trying to keep the knife from slicing her throat, but its the left one pinned between the two women that's the real threat. "Can you say lights out?"

Right behind saying those words Dessa choked out a spell. An electrical shock wave shoots from her left hand, and goes through the woman with the knife. The woman screams as she is ripped away from Dessa, and sent flying through the air. With a loud crash the woman slams into a tree, the falls to the ground not moving. Dessa falls to her knees breathing hard and rubbing her sore throat.

 

The woman tries to hold on to her grip but despite all her efforts she is sent flying the mark of her fingers can be seen along Dessa's left wrist. She slams into a tree and coughs once then twice and stops moving her bangs fall in front of her eyes as all there is from her is shallow breathing.

Meanwhile the crowsbow man is assaulting Esca and Shockwave while that is going down. Esca continues to have Harris dance for them. "That is a great dance!" She says to the man.

 

"You really shouldn't play with toys," Shockwave booms, stepping forward and reaching out a massive, metal hand to grab at the crossbow and crushing it and the man's fingers trapped inside. "See, you end up getting hurt."

He curls his fingers around the man and throws him over his shoulder into the same lake. "I've had about enough of this!"

His body begins to glow a faint purple hue and then his hand morphs into a massive cannon that he levels towards the bandits. He begins to audibly count down from ten, making sure to take his time between each number as the black chasm of the cannon begins to pulse with a purple light as well that seems to be slowly growing in width and diameter, beginning to chase away the shadows of the trees around them. He steps forward, his visor turning an angry shade of purple and he grips the side of the cannon to stabilize it.

"I'm going to give you one more chance to leave with your lives," he growls, the odd metallic voice sounding far harsher than any normal humans'. "I'm beginning to lose my patience."

 

The man screams as his fingers are crushed, he goes flying into water and swims out of it, he bandages his busted hand.

Harris is still dancing while this goes down he can look around and is practically begging to be allowed to run.
"Shockwave calm down a bit, no need to fire those" Esca says as she looks at the bandits leader.
"You heard the man, I suggest you gather that woman and make your way to wherever you came from. Oh and do me a favour would you dear. I want you to before you go stand in attention while we go along our way in our carriage I want a full sault and everything! Do I make myself clear"
"Yes ma'am" Harris says standing in salute.
"Come on you two let's not lose more time" Esca says getting in the carriage.

With that the bandits have been dealt with.

 

"Thank goodness I didn't come across these bandits on my to town or home by myself." "I don't have my weapons with me, which is a mistake I'll never make again." Dessa hops off the carriage to quickly calm down the horses. She slaps the leader up side his head on her way back to the carriage. Dessa waits for Shockwave to shrink in size before taking off.

 

"They made me mad." Shockwave grumbled, his cannon powering down and transforming back into a normal hand. "I would suggest you listen lest I feel like being mad again. You won't like me when I'm angry, I tend to do irrational things and stuff tends to get destroyed."

He watched in satisfaction as the bandits fled for their very lives, their metaphorical tails between their legs and he began shifting down to his disguised form, climbing back inside the carriage. "I'm ready to go now. Shall we continue, hopefully uninterrupted this time?'

 

"I hope they are the last threat for now." Dessa flicks the reins, and the horses take off at a fast run this time. The forest zips by as they start to make good time to her cottage. "Keep a look out for a trail on the left hand side by a large boulder. That's where I have turn to get to my cottage."

 

"Large boulder and a trail got it!" Esca says happily she is drawing a picture of the bandits with Shockwave's true transformer form looming over them with a purple glow.
"You got so big Shockwave!" Esca says to him as she draws while also looking for the boulder.

 

"Yes," Shockwave muses, gazing out of the window, watching the forest pass by as the carriage rumbled along. "That is my true form, the one you see before you now is a disguise I crafted to blend in when I'm among you."

He tapped the side of his mask. "Be kind of hard to blend in when I'm that big and look like that."

 

"Yeah it would. But it looked cool so there is that." Esca says to him
"This would does have a bunch of interesting folks. That big brutish bandit was I think a goliath the others were human or elves I didn't see their ears. There are types of people out there that look wildly different its really cool." Esca says to Shockwave the ride is going off without another distraction.

 

"The next time I'm in town I'll have a talk with the local authorities about the bandits. So they can have a patrol search the forest for them." Dessa tells them while looking out for the large boulder. After another mile she finally spots what she was looking for. "Finally there's the boulder and trail to my cottage." She slows down the horses to a walk, using the reins to turn the carriage down the trail.

Another hour of riding in the carriage, and they finally come to a large clearing in the forest. Right in middle of the clearing is a brick cottage. "Well this is my cottage. What do you two think?" The cottage has brick walls, wooden shingles on the roof, and vines with flowers going up some of the walls.

 

"Yes, it is how you say...cool." Shockwave agreed, nodding in affirmation of this particular truth."They were strange sir and I would have enjoyed getting to know them in any other circumstance had they not felt like trying to steal from us. And that sounds like a great idea Dessa! Maybe they will be less likely to repeat something like this if there are regular patrols moving through the area."

He watched Dessa deftly steer their carriage around the boulder and through the winding trail to the open area where a brick cottage rested. "I...like it is. Seems homey."

 

"Thank you Shockwave. Feel free to walk around while I unhook the horses from the carriage." Dessa hops off the carriage, and goes over to the horses to free them from the straps of the carriage.

 

"Sure, no problem." Shockwave replies, gripping the edges of the door of the carriage and stepping out. "It has a very scenic vibe. Was that intended or happenstance?"

He begins exploring the cabin, poking and prodding the structure's various supports. "Interesting building material, is it sturdy?"

 

"Cozy place you have here" Esca says has she disemarks from the carriage. Her small frame makes it way towards the cottage.
